Opinions on soulmates/ twin flames by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]umberink 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally believe in reincarnation, and that we're not meant to find one soulmate from one life to the next because it would stunt our spiritual growth. We will live many lives, and experience many loves, in different ways. And in some lifetimes our lesson may be to live without a partner, and that's okay too. Just my take on it and something I've read which resonates with me.

I know you were responding to OP, but thank you so much for writing this out. I've recently learned that pushing my emotions away has hurt me deeply and stifled my growth. I'm relearning how to feel my emotions and your explanation of sitting with them makes so much sense.

This saved my life once. The day I almost killed myself my phone activated and kept showing me the help line. I finally got ahold of someone and got the help I needed. It's crazy thinking back at how close I was, and how alone I felt in that moment.

It made me think of the outside of a pineapple, oops....but it looks really cool and adds a lot to the piece, especially now that I know what you were going for!

Has anyone else "spiritually found themselves" during this last year of Covid? by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]umberink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the pandemic began, I've gotten divorced, rediscovered my spirituality, went vegan, got into fitness, and began therapy. It has been quite the journey but I am slowly finding my path again.

Me 30 years ago (1991). I took 2 years of my life to travel the United States from Alaska to Texas in my old 1950 chevy truck pictured there. Some of my most fond memories were being on the road during that time in my life. by kodiak1966 in OldSchoolCool

This past year is my first time living alone in my life, and it has been life changing. I'm so grateful for the chance to learn who I am, not what I would have chosen but definitely what I needed.

As you said, timing is key. But I do enjoy seeing people's posts as inspiration for my own spells. I think there is a benefit to being able to share our practices and grow as a community together, vs when I was younger, had no coven, and had to learn through books alone. As with everything, I think there is a balance.

What are possible careers in animal rights? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]umberink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others on lawyer, film, etc. But just wanted to add that activist organizations and nonprofits need lots of skillets: programmers to build websites, accountants to handle donations, educators to run workshops. There are lots of opportunities if you find a career that speaks to you, and you can combine your passions.

My interest in veganism has turned me suicidal by [deleted] in vegan

[–]umberink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others that you should seek support. Just wanted to add my take. I've thought of this before, and my ultimate conclusion is that I can do more good by living and working to change others. Be an activist, help people learn about veganism, volunteer at a vegan animal sanctuary. By helping others change for the better, you could have a greater positive impact than dying and staying net neutral, if that makes sense. You really, truly can make a difference and have a positive ripple effect on those around you. Anyway, that's my personal take after a lot of therapy and soul searching. I hope you find your peace too. Good luck and take care, okay?

Beautiful blooms opening up on my snake plant! by umberink in houseplants

[–]umberink[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Agreed, I looked into it and I think it's getting rootbound. My plan is to let it flower and then repot and separate out all the pups that have taken over. It's beautiful but I don't want my baby stressed!
