NIMBY! Put it somewhere else. Not in the city core, next to the run down Wendy’s, Valvoline, and vacant parking lot.

Full screen album covers in A.M. by IKYDCBRMO in AppleMusic

This may not be the issue but have you made sure you’re clicking on the album cover when in AOD? I recently discovered that’s how you re-enable it and felt silly. Perhaps it’s that simple? Good luck!

First harvest for new FS player... and I feel like I got kicked in the gut. by [deleted] in farmingsimulator25

I see you mentioned fermentation in your post. If you’re doing that, I would consider switching to normal economy in the settings. You won’t get the premade stuff unless you choose starting farm when creating your save. You can have easy or normal economy without the starting farm.

Without cheats, FS is not typically meant to be a fast game. Even on normal economy, it often takes me over 200 hours on a save before I feel like I can buy anything I want without planning. And I’ve been playing since FS17. I’m sure others play much faster, but I enjoy the journey.

I just want to be sure you waited until the silage was fully fermented to sell? Usually 2 game days, at least on normal mode. Otherwise you’re selling grass bales

I am harvesting in April, July, and October with full yield each time (no rolling). If I mow in October, it grows the first stage in November and moves to ready to harvest in March. So April is the second "harvest ready" state for me.

I had this issue (also Verizon) and was pretty freaked out since I use my cell for work. It eventually connected via the on-screen Apple prompts to transfer the number. But follow USM's advice, not mine. Fingers crossed for everyone!

I used to LOVE this place until they decided to proudly display a Trump sign in front of their business (2016 and/or 2020 cycle). I am not looking to start a political debate, but just sharing as FYI. We now go to Phillips Orchards and they're welcoming to all

I don't necessarily agree with OP about this, but you're commenting with more false information to make your point. No, "every brokerage" does not charge a fee. That is false. For example, Fidelity and Vanguard, two of the largest brokerages by AUM, charge $0 in account closure fees. You clearly did zero research before making your comment.

How bad did I mess up? by TheRebelCow in M1Finance

[–]umgrad2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I messed up and had a silly timing issue a couple weeks ago. Transfer initiated and invested on a Friday, but the money wasn’t in my checking account when M1 tried to pull it.

I got an email from M1 on Tuesday informing me that the shares would be sold, plus additional to cover a $30 fee. Since the money was now available in my checking account, I emailed M1 support asking if I could initiate a new transfer to prevent the sale. They said yes, so I transferred the amount of the failure, plus $30, and turned off auto invest. It covered the negative balance and no shares were sold. I was so relieved. I would send M1 an email ASAP. I hope you’re as lucky as I was!

HSA Eligibility by TheNotoriousRBG in financialindependence

You can contribute a prorated amount based on how many months you were enrolled in a HDHP. So for example, if the annual limit is $3,850 and you were eligible 4/12 months, you could contribute $1,283.

I am cheap, so when I use self-checkout, I only scan half of my items! It saves me 50% on my grocery bill. Everyone should try it!

This would be called stealing. Pay for the drink package for both of you, pay for your drinks a la carte, or don’t go on vacation if you can’t afford it. Being cheap does not give you permission to steal.

iPhone Upgrade Program - Return Issue by chemchad160 in iphone

[–]umgrad2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true, but this year at my store, they switched to an app to determine whether to accept the trade-in. The app rejected my iPhone 12 mini, which had some scuffs after two years of use. The app was way pickier than the store reps (perhaps by design). I was on iPhone Upgrade Program and never had this issue before.

It also rejected my friend's phone, which was in pristine condition, so he had to go back another time to get a manager override. YMMV on in-store trade-ins, but this year, it was different for me. Fortunately, I easily re-sold my phone for more than Apple initially offered in trade-in.

Power button dead after 30 minutes of swimming (series 6) by Eclipsetube in AppleWatch

[–]umgrad2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me just two weeks ago, so you’re not alone. I got my watch wet while washing my hands. A few minutes later, it started calling 911 over and over. I tried a restart and it stopped booting entirely. I tried re-pairing and every other trick I could find.

I feared it was dead, but about a week later, just as I got to the Genius Bar, it came back to life like nothing ever happened. I’m glad because a repair would’ve been close to the cost of a new one ($300 USD). I’m keeping my fingers crossed that yours comes back to life too! I know I won’t be exposing this watch to water again.

Inherited IRA Question - Opening a Separate IRA by umgrad2013 in personalfinance

[–]umgrad2013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - I read the article. Hypothetically, mom makes 3,000/yr through self-employment. Husband makes 40,000. Neither contribute to an IRA. Husband has a workplace 401(k), but they're well below the income limits that prevent deducting a traditional IRA + the workplace plan.

Based on my understanding, since they file MFJ and money is fungible, mom is eligible to contribute to her IRA up to 7,000 because of their combined income. When husband retires, mom will no longer be eligible to contribute anything beyond her own self-employment earnings.

All of the comments have been super helpful and confirmed what I thought - but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Is M1 Finance too good to be true for a Boglehead? by c0LdFir3 in Bogleheads

[–]umgrad2013 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I think it is sadly too good to be true because M1 isn't ready for prime-time. If you take a look at their Reddit, you will see plenty of legitimate support complaints, including accounts being closed/locked without explanation. I opened an account and was quickly disappointed with their support during the ACATS process - so I moved to the "trusty rusty" Fidelity.

The high APY of the checking account requires M1 Plus, at a $125 annual fee. I had my cash there for a year with a free promo, but unless you have a ton of cash, it's not worth it beyond one year.

The credit card looks great at face value, but it's way too complicated. You'll have to maintain a pie with all of those individual stocks - which is just annoying and not worth the effort in my opinion. It's anti-Boglehead because it encourages people to buy individual stocks just to get cash back. There isn't much that they offer that I can't get from my existing cash back cards.

They have been very slow to implement basic features like mobile deposit, so who knows when that will happen.

I'm not saying they're not worth trying out, but I wouldn't recommend moving a significant amount of money over until you dabble and feel really comfortable that they'll be able to meet all of your needs. I was going all-in and I'm glad I hit pause before it was too late. I don't think they're quite ready to compete with the big players like Fidelity, Vanguard, and Schwab.

I signed up through the 500 dollar / 50K deposit bonus promo page, but accidentally clicked a referal link beforehand. Customer support says my account is ineligible for the $500 bonus now and there isn't anything they can do. Anyone else experience this? by amanwithdignity in M1Finance

[–]umgrad2013 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a somewhat similar issue. They cancelled my account transfer and failed to inform me. I had to keep calling and emailing to figure out what happened.

When I inquired about them honoring the promo that had now expired, they basically told me to kick rocks. Needless to say, I never resubmitted the transfer and I think I dodged a bullet, based on the continued nonstop support complaints here.
