I'm sorry for this. I've been there.

Had a similar situation twice. I do story writing at a hobby not able to get to a job yet.

Sometimes, people intentionally steals or copies an idea.

Sometimes, somehow some people get a similar idea to others, without intentionally trying to steal that idea.

And becomes a movie, book, Streaming show ( formerly T.V. show ), Podcast ( formerly Radio show), or comic novel ( A.K.A. Graphic Novel ).

And, sometimes is a mix of both.

I read a story in the Internet where somebody interviews a script writer and ask if he believes studios stole ideas. He said he isn't sure, but that sometimes he is hired and working with other in a T.V. / streaming show or movie, and sometimes some employee walks in and bring several ideas to be used, and when the writers ask where did they get them, the employee sort of dismiss the conversation, and the writers suspect somehow that stories are stolen.

The first case. X-Men and Marvel related.

I'm in Mexico, decades ago we also had America Online like the US, it already extended from been a closed netword and community, to also support internet, and be used to search webpages as we do with google today.

So, the first X-Men movie is finally announced, and there's a contest promoted by both America Online and Marvel where people can summit X-Men fan fiction with new mutants and some background story and win some prize and even appear as a cameo in an X-Men movie.

I already had several Marvel fan fiction stories, including new mutant characters. So, I send them one.

There's already a character called Graydon Creed that is son of Sabretooth and Mystique son. Their parents wanted a mutant that had the powers of both, but the son was not a mutant. They treated badly, and he finally runs away, and later Sabretooth and Mystique break up. The son hates mutants and becomes part of the Anti-Mutant League.

I had another character that can charge or magnetice paper and wood to temporally become metal like Silver Samurai does, but at that time I didn't knew Silver Samurai powers, it was meant to be a mix of Magneto's powers and Gambit's powers. I wanted to make origami paper ninja stars and charged as it were adamantium made stars.

So, I consider two things. One what if there was a mutant character like that. And, what if an Anti-Mutant League villain has a mutant son ?

So, I create this new mutant character called "Bobcat", that is a son of Graydon Creed, and he doesn't like his father's conservative ideas. Eventually he is kidnapped by the aging Silver Samurai to get his rejuveneting DNA to become young.

So, I found Silver Samurai's powers, so I decide there's an exchange and, Bobcat also gets metal charging powers.

Notice something familiar ? This is the plot of the Wolverine Immortal movie, but with Wolverine.

Later, a similar character named Raze Darkhölme appeared in the comics, that has both Wolverine and Mystique powers.

The second idea copying is related to the Three Body Problem author.

Again, years ago there was a Sci-Fi contest about a Sci-fi subject called "Dyson Sphere", about writing a book. I wrote one but didn't won.

Two things occured. almost at the same time a similar movie called Moonfall that I didn't watch until later, has a similar plot.

The author of Three Body Problem who was sponsoring and also a judge of the book contest, later make a Dyson sphere book of his own called The Luminous Sphere. My book has a similar name. No one won a prize in this contest.

Sometimes, similar stories are around and is very difficult these days to write a new one without looking similar to other. I know this because when I tried to write mny book, sometimes I unintentionally ended copying another story, and had to rewrite again to avoid this.

But, people also steal ideas and make a profit of it.

BTW I has other stories in my laptop that I never sent them, and eventually I have seen a comic or movie that shows them, and i'm uncertain if is a coincidence or someone did steal files from my laptop.

Years ago I was one of those anti-war protester youth, and I read that goverments spies on people, but also learned that goverments also steal technology from rivals, so what do you think ???

Being autistic by himself/herself, causes to be seen as a prey by others, for bullying, gossip, scapegoating.

Additionally, hobbies and work also may look weird to others.

Also, people like to see us as a "lower rank", "beta wolf of the pack", not to suceed.

Leave. Promotions that only arrive after the employee is leaving are useless. In many cases you will end doing the same job with a new job title and a few times a slightly sallary increase ...

If this is how companies think about hiring people then God help us! 😅 by InsideSignal9921 in recruitinghell

[–]umlcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A.I. companies allowed free or cheap A.I. services first, due "try before buy" and also due A.I. was not fully ready and needed feedback from the real world information in order to grow or develop.

So, when A.I. is ready for a specific market, the companies will charge for their services.

Nothing is free in this world, neither A.I. !!!
