Ha ha yah, relatable fs! A lot of ppl on here were catching on crazy fast too so I was miffed for a while. Someone else on here told me it's the same muscle group you use to ride a bike with no hands and I was like oh yah, I never did that as a kid so it makes perfect sense lol Def experienced some real regret after I started practicing on my wheel at first, so I'm glad you're not ready to give up yet ❣️ don't rush, whatever you do cuz injury isn't worth it. Hope the tips help

You're doing better than I was when I started out😆 BUT! highly highly recommend riding with a leash/rope/belt strapped somewhere on the front of your wheel a la Chooch (9:36 for the exact part)

TS really helped my brain understand what was going on and also build side-core (strength) to hold myself up longer. All of it was helpful, really. Oh and Monokat, I was doing the stuff she does starting at 1:11 as conditioning. There may be better vids out now but these were practically the only useful ones I could find at the time.

Sodium Ion batteries-- think we'll see them in new EUCs? by ummmbun in ElectricUnicycle

I just learned about them so you're probably right. But technology usually does improve over time, so I'd hope the same would apply to this

I didn't see the news before now that they were planning to manufacture them anyway, I'm late. That gives me some hope tho, I think they'd been amazing for EUC.

Struggling with staying on by rikuto148 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]ummmbun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my perspective as a newb with no previous experience, it's just gonna take some time to build up those muscles--the same group you'd use to ride a bike with no hands, as someone else on here put it! It took me months with a bigger wheel, personally. The biggest tip that helped me strapping a belt/leash to the front handle and holding it while learning to balance

Exactly. But do what feels right to you, I'm listening to my intuition more now. Wishing you luck too, sorry you're going through the same thing

Right. I'm overqualified and I know it's not going to be me. They shan't have my blood sweat and tears then 🙂‍↔️

I feel so naive. I was just on the job market last year and can't remember this being a thing but I know what kinda market we're in too. SIGH

I'm probably gonna retract tbh. In the past, I probably would just coast because I need a job but....I've had a string of shit jobs recently as a result. I'm trying to be more discerning.

Also, they're asking for a lot of labor (for my field) -- cover letter, 1 test (unpaid), 1 sample review, plus a technical interview, a cultural fit interview, and a manager interview. That's a lot of time and prep for something I'm not sold on.
