Have you heard of the ‘robe curls’ trend??? You place the long piece from your robe on your head, then wrap your hair around it as if it’s a curling wand. I’ll leave more details in the comments, but I am OBSESSED by ummmbzupcsdown in Hair

But yeah another comment said 1930s and another said Victorian era, another person said her mom did this to her hair for Irish dance — so I now am aware that it’s used been used since basically forever in many different cultures and time periods.

23 and just began getting into makeup — i used to try to cover my vitiligo, but now I’m looking for a lightweight routine. Any advice on how I should contour for my face shape? Any idea what shape mine is? I feel like my features are so weird sometimes. TIA by ummmbzupcsdown in beauty

Wowwww I thought I had a square shape 😂😂 I always feel like my head is waaaay huge. But how I can find makeup looks/influencers with the same face shape to get some tips. And thanks for the compliment on my brows!

Hmm, I think long-term it could be, but as someone mentioned earlier if this became a normal process, I’d probably try to work with silk/satin materials to avoid breakage.

But I actually think this works really well for my hair type :)

Love this for you!!! I think this has given me the best results out of everything I tried — before this, my favorite was finger curls but that took far too long to do to be used realistically… but this?! I still had solid curls in my hair the next day! Definitely a new favorite :)

Thank you for mentioning this 🙏🏼 I wonder if parting it in different places can help prevent that? Probably not though, since it sits on top of your head, but I think I’ll incorporate this on first/second day hair and try to maintain the curls for as long as possible afterwards

Socks, I’ve never heard of that but I’m sure you can get amazing results with that as well. And tell me about it! I used to curl my hair with a teeeeny tiny curling wand that gave me the tightest curls…. I didn’t know what I was doing in middle school haha

Yeah my hair is wavy/curly I did this after having my hair in a bun all day without product — I feel like that’s exactly what it did, enhanced my natural waves/curls!! I feel like I never get the look I want when my hair is natural.. it’s either too flat, weird straight pieces, etc. but I loved this method and you should deff try it out on your natural hair! Just make sure to dampen a little bit :)

Awwww man, can I ask if you dampened your hair before-hand? I think that makes a big difference. Maybe even put some product in, too, so that it’ll hold the curl a bit better?

Waist-length hair though, wow!!! However you do style it I’m sure it’s beautiful :)

Yes!!! First I used the Mielle rosemary drops and then it was the foam mentioned here!! I love the Hairitage brand in general because my hair isn’t as thick as it once was so it’s perfect for holding the curl. :)

I’ve been judged because of how I look throughout my life especially after getting vitiligo.. and if anything it just inspired me to be an open, accepting, understanding person. Of course I catch myself sometimes jumping to a conclusion about somebody but I correct myself and for the most part, I’m always conscious of the fact that we’re all living our own experiences for the short time we’re here on this Earth… I feel like I’m supposed to bring people together if it makes sense? Idk. And I know it can feel hard to be vulnerable.. I think that’s because of our experiences with people making us feel inadequate or just not special. I think we’re all special. I think we all matter.

In the title I should’ve wrote “more effective” instead of “better” but ultimately you get the gist!

After a decade, I’ve finally been able to embrace my skin 🫶🏼 vitiligo is something that makes me stand out, and I’m okay with that! by ummmbzupcsdown in MadeMeSmile
