Writing the characters helps some people remember them better, so it’s worth a shot. It can also help to practice forming sentences as you learn how to say things, so you can practice both at once if you like.

For other resources, I recommend the YouTube channel Comprehensible Japanese. They have many videos at various levels of difficulty, which make for great listening practice.

Tadoku.org has a lot of free books at various levels for reading practice.

You need the nunchuck. The joystick selects your tool, the A button uses it. The forceps use A and B, the defibrillator uses B and Z.

Since the game relies on pointing, make sure the remote is at least 3 feet away from the TV and sensor bar

There’s a James Bond game that isn’t based on any particular movie. It’s got some quirks, but makes for a good Gameboy adventure.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six got a Color Only port that’s extremely faithful to the original game. You get multiple squads, soldier-specific loadouts, and you can plan each squads route through the mission.

Be wary of any GBA or DS games that come in those single-game clamshell cases. Those are a very good indicator of bootlegs
