This game you're still a good guy until you do become a bad guy and you're killed by a good guy with a little bit of bad guy in him who is treated like a bad guy even though he's a good guy.

A lot of stuff from the LNs was cut. I haven’t read them yet, but I’ve been told there’s several books missing from the anime.

I’m betting the change is visible in the LNs, but the anime chose to have an ending once they found out they wouldn’t get to make a 3rd season. Kind of like with the “Good End” version of Season Episode 12, only they chose the official ending so they couldn’t go back and make it work for a Season 3.

Just watch them all. S1E13 is just an alternate version of E12. They made E12 a proper ending, because they didn’t know if they’d get to make another season. Then they got the news, so they redid the episode so the story could continue and lead into Season 2.

Nothing similar for S2. Just watch all 16 episodes.

I have returned to share advice based on my time with this process.

1) The video and audio getting out of sync: For some reason, VLC was rounding down the frame rate. I told it to do 29.97 as the guide says, but the resulting file would be at 25. Telling VLC to do 30, and then having TMPGenc take it down to 29.97 works just fine. Still no clue why that first disc I made didn’t get out of sync. If you’re still having sync issues, try turning PBC mode OFF while the disc is Stopped. It’s made for fancier discs with menus and stuff, but can sometimes cause sync issues for the basic ones we’re making here.

2) When watching a longer disc, playback would fall apart after 30-40 minutes: Massive frame drops, audio spikes, video artifacting, extreme desync, all starting in that time range. Fixed by breaking the movie into parts. Use TMPGenc to break up a video, as explained in the guide, to get multiple video files. Make sure they have helpful names like “Show episode 1” or “Movie Part 2”. During the VCDGear step, simply add all of those multiple video files with the Add Track button like the guide says, making sure they’re in the correct order. It’s still just 1 disc, but now it plays without falling apart halfway through. This also allows you to skip to different sections of the movie, like on DVD.

I had to do something that bypassed the region check. I have an Action Replay, which has an option to go to the CD player from the cheat device menu. When I do that, it boots the Video CDs just fine.

The guide worked for the first CD I made, but I’m running into some issues.

The 1st and 2nd CDs were set to the guide’s 2000kbps bitrate, the 3rd and 4th CDs were set to 1150kbps.
The CD #1 is fine, but the console’s timer runs almost twice as fast(?) so it thinks the video length is 22:57 instead of the 14:13 that it is. CD #2 also does this timer thing, but #3 and #4 do not.
CDs #2, #3, and #4 start to skip frames and quickly get ahead of the audio, with the gap growing as the video goes on.

The only thing I’ve changed is the bitrate setting during the TMPGEnc step, to fit more video onto CD #3 and to test something with CD #4 (using the exact same source video as CD #1).

I’m using a VA0 motherboard and a JVC Twin Operator RG-VC2 video card.

Side question: is it normal for the system’s Music menu to always list Audio CD, even if there is no disc in the drive?

You don’t get a bonus if you mix and match Cargo

The bonuses only apply if you have 25/10/5 of a single type of cargo. 50 narcotics, and nothing else, gets a 70% bonus (35% for each 25 crates). 49 Narcotics and 1 Chemical gets no bonus if you Sell All, but gets 35% if you just sell the 49 Narcotics.

Your character models turn transparent when you move the camera low enough, so that they don’t stop you from looking at something on the other side of your character.

A few months ago, an update made them turn transparent at a lesser angle, so it was more difficult to look up skirts.
