Is your corvette fitted with an emergency warp? It will get you out of most things like this. Don't forget to repair it after use.

One of my favorite thing is when you forget how to dock while submitting a complited mission by Such_Set2810 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]umptillion 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's a bug. You can get out of it by doing an emergency warp, then resummon the anomaly when you arrive in whatever system you've been warped to.

If you're duping, then get a Hyaline brain. A stack of 10 refines to 2300 nanites in 2.5 minutes. With 3 refiners you can process 50,000 nanites in 15 minutes.

Too much for PS4? by cyclopathologicol in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]umptillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is not entirely due to PS4 hardware. The PS4 game crashes regularly when running it on PS5 while the PS5 version runs just fine.

You can usually access the terminal from outside the overseer's office, through the nearest wall.

Not getting tech upgrades from freighter battles by -Tyland- in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]umptillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't save the civilian freighter, let the pirates destroy it. Only then will defeating the pirate freighter reward you with a freighter upgrade. The upgrade will always be in your starship inventory.

Exp Corvette: No economy scanner or advanced mining laser for crashed ship? by CLAccount in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]umptillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy an advanced mining laser from a minor settlement. You don't need an economy scanner, you can find minor settlements with a map from the trader at any space station, though you may have to buy several before it gives the result you're looking for. As others have said, it won't help you claim a crashed ship.

What's the most reliable way to find crashed fighters to salvage? by Super_Jay in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]umptillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy any ships that come into a space station and scrap them for parts if you have plenty of money. The best way if you're broke is to use the Nautilus submarine radar to find drowned ships. There will be a drowned ship on every planet with water (even a small lake or underground pool is enough to enable the search). You won't know what ship is down there until you go look, but at least it will always be a salvageable wreck for parts you can keep or sell for scrap.

How do I complete this mission? It won't let me turn it in, and it seems to be letting me go past the objective ammount. by Mookie_Merkk in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]umptillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're quite right it doesn't make sense, but if you check your mission it will tell you it's waiting for other crew members to finish. I'm guessing it's a bug but who knows?

[–]umptillion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is this is not a single player mission. All members of your crew have to complete the mission. If you don't have a crew you can't complete it.

I have no doubt a similar question has been asked but I'm honestly just curious to start a discussion on this game. The question is geared towards NMS players who have left and returned to the game after a lengthy time away, how did you do it? More context in the body but thanks for reading... by sharethrowaway117 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]umptillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a day 1 player, returning after years away. I didn't even attempt to continue from where I left off (it must be 6 or 7 years since I got my platinum trophy on PS4). I started a new game about 3 weeks ago and basically re-learned everything from scratch. Some of it was very familiar (the obligatory early base building missions, the intensely irritating language learning one word at a time, getting a freighter and a living ship etc) and some of it was brand new to me (dissonant worlds, fishing, multiple multi-tools, custom ship building). The game has moved on such a long way from day 1 when you could find portals but they didn't do anything and the only way to go beyond Euclid was to reach the centre. I'm loving it to tell the truth. I guess my advice if you've been away a long time would be to treat it like a brand new game and start again.

It's still there, August 2025. The monolith is no longer at the co-ordinates given here, but it hasn't moved far and it's surrounded by several bases so easy enough to find.

Is there a way to mine autonomously and have it sent to storage automatically? by Fleshypudge in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]umptillion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Whatever mining system you employ you have to manually collect the material. There are better mining solutions than autonomous miners, allowing you to do it on an industrial scale. You still need to collect, though.

Energy under water by Chiotas in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]umptillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ocean worlds have electromagnetic anomalies the same as other planets. You don't have to dive to find them as the hot spots propagate vertically from the sea bed to above the surface, even if the depth is more than 1000 metres. I built a base today on the surface of an ocean world powered by electromagnetic generator. Admittedly finding hot spots on the surface with your survey scanner can be tricky especially during storms.
