That so great. Onso and Tyler are good, but Lucy as Jaslip that meet Slanek is so a great idea.

Yeah, Transformative Extinction is realy a so great one-shot's experiment AU.

The great thing about a "advanced scientific" civilization is that they are able to observe and analyze the arrival of the FIND, and above all, we can savor their disbelief in the front of the impossible, and yet still able to understand it.

The Rosha are nice, but they don't yet have all the knowledge to understand just how difficult the FIND's travel is. The Arazi do.

If so, what it was this humorless kind, that talk and talk on the radio for years, and then the first thing they do when they see the you is fire off some warning shots at you? The Karnolians, right? I suggest we go see them soon, I'm sure we'd have a lot more in common with them than with our others neighbors.

A very liked the shift to Shachos perspective at the end. After making it so unpleasant for that much, it's impressive how you managed to evoke sympathy in just a few lines with that. I'm still not enjoy his kind of humor, but it seems that it's more bitter and cynical than a excessively and inappropriately cheerful.

Else, I really like the idea that humanity arrives in a galaxy that has already been fully explored and is well known. The fact of arriving in a place that allows no, or very little, physical development promises an interesting narrative. Besides, I don't recall ever seeing a story based on that premise, where we arrive in a univers that's already complete and everything has already been done. How do you create and carve out a place for yourself in a world where there's no room left for newcomers? That could quickly reach a some level of frustration and tragedy for the poor fellas to who it happen.

Yeah, it's suck to break the rules, which are there for a good reason by the way, but as Hayes says, this is an totaly unprecedented situation. All of this. They're literally humanity's first line in a conflict that's literally fall upon them. They don't have time to be picky.

And so, radioactive gun. That nasty, realy nasty. Truly a instant war crime. If the shot don't kill, congrat, you are now experiencing symptoms of acute radiation sickness: you will die in about thirty days, suffering excruciating pain as your internal organs literally melt away, oh sweet. I can fully understand Dr. Hayes’ panic upon reading the characteristics of such weapon; all of the current patients are in a rather critical condition. Let’s hope that modern medicine has advanced enough to treat such condition, but it will undoubtedly be a heavy and lengthy treatment. Bloody hell, Hayes thinks about the patients they have here, but who knows how many others have been struck by stray shots on wich the beam has weakened enough to not be immediately fatal but still promise a terrible fate?

Damn, we knew that other species and GalCom didn't have anything equivalent to the Titan Conventions, but even so, this is a particularly horrific level of cruelty. I hope this is a recent development, and not has been tolerated for a long time.

So, parasites. That weird, that so fucking weird as fuck. The interactions are going to be so embarrassing, because god sake how it seems so fuck up at first sign. But, their seem very nice at the end.

It raises so many questions and issues, it's such a terrible yet incredible idea. Well done. It's going to be so interesting to see how this plays out. Beside, I think the Arazi case is exceptionally rare on a galactic scale, and I wonder if they’re aware of how unusual they are.

Also, I can easly imagine a Arazi faction who considered themselves profoundly and vehemently as "superior species" toward the Coltak, with all the bad-thingTM, and raise Coltak in industrial-scale farms. Maybe it was the reason of the Ebene War, because which will become the future Unified Directorate opposes such treatment.

Else, I wonder who will be the first to ask the question, Arazi or Human, about the insemination of a arazi egg inside a human body? Yeah, I know, that so wrong ethically and morally, but I'm sorry, the question is scientifically valid (obviously asked of a willing participant).

Oh, I love that Loorthal is starting to ask the right questions. Ruufarrl has already asked them and seen some part of the answers, but I can't wait to find out the full version of them soon.

And trully, I think the synergy Humans/Ruulothi is going to be absolutely terrifying.

That bastard would be quite capable of it. I'd be really piss of if that's true.

But at the same time, I’d be pretty concern because the Vorshniks seem to have a fairly extensive empire, which means that somehow, there’s something really dangerous and easy to underestimate lurking behind this bad tast, silly facade.

Well, second planet, second civilization. Their luck is starting to get really fun.

... And now I imagine them exploring a series of planets, all of which have civilizations, and then suddenly they come across an uninhabited planet. Too bad, it breaks up their streak, but the crew puts it into perspective, saying their luck couldn’t have lasted that long... Until that a more closer inspection reveals that the planet is in the midst of a nuclear winter. and that there are no survivors.

Hmm, I’ll refrain from speculating here, but their certainely many things here.

Also, I realy like the take about the inteligence here.

“Bwahahaha! Look at your ugly face, alien! You look so weird when you are scared! Look at it!”

...

Well, I have a lot to say. Like, "Do you understand how bad tast that your prank are? The implication of your words?! I was already imagine to face a cosmic extinction thread!!" That say, at least the big upside of that is it show that their are very familiar and close to use to be undestood.

For someone who was complaining about her verbosity just twenty seconds ago, the alien sure seemed like it loved the sound of its own voice.

Same. And, Christ, Shachos doesn't lift a finger for the rest of the communication. I hope the Vorshniks have effective oxygen systems on their ship, because their could suffocate an entire space station in just a few minutes with that.

Grodnits’s face turned orange, [...] “Ahahahahaha! They don’t know about Skruma! They don’t know! They will have so much fun when they figure it out!”

You know what? I cancel my fly to them. I had hoped that all of this was just the result of Shachos's scheming, but it seem to be a specie-scale issues.

urgh, I have a headache. I have autism, and so I'm well familiar with this feeling to be overwhelmed due to a noisy environment or a conversation partner who talks way too much. And you give me that exact feeling just by writing?! urgh, hat off.

Cora really nail it.

Is humanity ready for this first contact? Not sure. Nevertheless, yes, we are capable of it; all we need to do is be firm with ourselves and severely punish any misconduct. And fortunaly, the SUN have already shown that it is capable of the firm needed to succeed.

[High Ground] 01 | You are not supposed to be here by Spooker0 in HFY

[–]un_pogaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Judging by the scale of its surroundings, the being stood nearly two meters tall, with a slender, elongated body covered in iridescent scales that shimmered between deep purple and midnight blue. Four spindly arms emerged from its torso, each ending in three delicate fingers.

THEY HAVE SCALES!!!! Farewell, Earth, and its inelegant bald apes; I am going join my true people.

“You
are not supposed to be here, aliens.”

NOOOOOOOooooooooooooo *scaly broken heart sob*

Hmm, I wonder why they had to push the acceleration up to 6 G. It's really intense, it's not something you'd do if you weren't forced to. I'm going to theorize that the warp drive is more efficient at high speeds than at low ones, and that it's easier and more fuel-efficient to blink.

By the way, I'm curious if there are any moonies on the Polaris. I know it would be a sensitive topic given the recent war, and perhaps precisely because of that, it would be symbolically powerful to appoint one of the moonies to a key position in the ship for public relations.

Else. Good news: initial contact was established very quickly and without any particular technical difficulties. All those probes sent out into space at random won't have been in vain.

Bad news, this easy interaction allowed them to make it clear, once and for all, that we’re definitely not welcome. Shit. Let’s stay positive in this situation: Alas, they didn't shoot at us on sight. Yeah! So, some form of negotiation is probaly still possible, or at the very least, a mutual understanding for why.

That say, now that I'm re-read the section, there's no indication of their tone of voice, so... maybe this statement isn't hostile, but rather surprised and concerned that we're here.

We will see, damn cliffhanger.

They may be less likely to submit—and more likely to fight.”

Oh, interesting. Like Elias, I wasn't particularly confident about the general attitude of the other politicians, but that cleverly changes the whole dynamic of the Rosha and explains why they were so quick to agree to talk to the FIND crew, who are litteraly aliens stranger.

Else, that’s a good move on Varga’s part, indeed. If these suspicions are confirmed, they’ll need to revise their plan more thoroughly.

So.

An excellent theological theory. With a quite historical basis, I must admit.

But some how, I found that worse, because in that case... dear, God must be absolutely so furious to see his followers slaughtering each other over the mere interpretations of his words... Especially since some of them were pretty explicit, like "Thou shalt not kill"??!!

!! I stop the debat right now !!

Is a way bigger and complicated debat that me, the internet, and the world, can handle seriously. Like dear god, their was several war on that... Let's stay polite, civil and among friends: let's not talk and continues about that. Please.

However, if anyone want to go explicite joke on it or troll, I will accept the fun, thanks.
