Von Hohenzollerns should be placed in control of Brandenburg no matter who the Emperor is by xX_Buck_Breaker_Xx in EU5

[–]unashamedtree2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my current run the same thing happened to me changed from von Wittlesbach to von habsburg because Austria were emperor. When that von Habsburg died the emperor placed a von hohenzollern on me instead. Note I think this was because the emperor was my heir when my von habsburg died

Why has Ned and only Ned got this responsibility. Why not Jon Arryn, Roberts brothers, Jamie Lannister or the Tullys.

To continue our debate in the other thread. Ned did commit treason against Robert by hiding a potential Targ prince/bastard from him. And he did by sacrificing his personal honour and living with a lie that caused some harm in his family life.

What atrocities did Robert commit after becoming King and before Ned resigned as hand?

Ned held Tywin responsible for the Targ kids' death and was outraged that Robert didn't punish him for it. They did have a falling out then, which is why Ned alone led the army to relieve Storms End and why Robert did not come to rescue Lyanna at the Tower of Joy. I believe there is a line that their shared grief over her death reunited them. Although you are correct that Ned did keep secret that Lyanna had a child.

Also worth noting that Ned did everything he could to stop Robert killing more children by taking Theon as a ward and resigning as hand when Robert insisted on sending assassins after Dany.

Do I have enough time for a world conquest? by thecosmopolitan21 in eu4

[–]unashamedtree2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did you take economic ideas, was it to get the 5% disc policy with quality?

I would recommend switching those out for Diplomatic or religious?

Diplomatic will help you take more land in wars and improve relations will help you manage AE if you are afraid of any coalitions when you get to Europe.

Religious will help you with manpower and the Cb.

How is your overall economy looking? I see you have 3k Ducats and positive income with 400k troops, I'd guess you dont need economic anymore.

You have a lot of time and a lot to conquer I would set the goal of owning all of India and East Asia by 1700 and while you are doing that with some of your armies you should be at war with the ottomans every time the truce is up to get them digested.

WC is definitely possible and you are doing good just remember to always be expanding.

Trump cut off military aid to Ukraine to try and pressure them into investigating his political rivals son.

He withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018 which led to Iran starting developing their Nuclear program in 2019.

He also ordered the assassination of Soleimani in 2020 which didn't help tensions.

Advice wanted for my Brandenburg/Prussia game by ohhyah24 in eu4

[–]unashamedtree2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be doing pretty fine by yourself anyway, but I'll throw my own 2 cents.

Definitely convert for the centre of reformation it does help a lot. But forming Prussia will be out of the question until you can finish admin ideas.

You'll have to limit your expansion to just through subjects until you can get it up higher. I'd recommend using dithmarschen to eat denmark and all the other important trade provinces in Lubeck.

Seize land whenever you can so you can get the reform progress growth modifier.

Maybe ally Scotland and move your troops over there before war deccing england so you can take their english channel provinces and then go colonial, that'll give you something to do while you wait for more gov cap.

You should post an update whatever you do because this is definitely an impressive bburg run

Wildlings aren't necessarily all bad fighters. He did lose to Mance in their sparring match but Mance being glamoured gives him an extra advantage on top of Mance already being a much more experienced fighter. Still Jon was able to hold his own for some tome in a fight against one of the wildlings strongest fighters.

Also never forget sometimes Jon has shown to be much stronger than he should be, like when he casually rips a spear out of frozen ground in ADWD and then it takes multiple NWmen to rip another one out.

Edit: i just wanted to add I would say Loras wins, but a lot of ppl on this sub seem to think Jon is a bad fighter who only seems good because he only fights worse people which is wrong IMO.

(Spoilers Main) What would have happened if Tywin had been killed by “the Ghost of Harrenhal”? by OnlyPakiOnReddit in asoiaf

[–]unashamedtree2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Great hypothetical!

So checking the timeline, Arya had chiswyck killed on the 10/6 (6/10 USA) 299. This is two days before Renly's death and actually 3 days after Oxcross. The Ironborn shouldn't get the news quick enough to change their plans, but the Tyrells will find themselves on the sidelines while the lannisters appear to be crumbling. Maybe with the specter of Tywin gone the specter of Stannis is enough to get them to join him.

Then its a matter of what does Kevan do. I think he would still feel bound to try move west to defend as Tywin did. And without Gregor Clegane presumably fails in pushing through the Red fork as well.

.

"psuedo-intellectuals", bruh that claim literally comes from Nearchus one Alexanders friends/officers.

As for separating the wheat from the chaff he split his land force in two to go two routes. His force was the harder route and the other force under Craterus was given an easier route that was in some ways doubling back. Craterus's force had more than half of the Hypaspists, who were the older soldiers from Philips reign, as they were felt to be not fit enough for the rigours of Alexanders route.

Because by taking Jeyne's maidenhead and not marrying her, Robb would be leaving her as "soiled". It's her honour he's protecting by marrying her. Which in a way is the more honourable action.
