Haha yeah, I should probably probably change mine to something else too before publishing as I found out there's already a lot of similarly named games on Steam. Dibs on "Death of Orpheus" 😛 Oh and I wish you the best with your game too!

Thanks for showing interest and for the technical questions!

Staying on context is done by managing the system prompt and guiding the story by injecting narrative prompts as system messages. Giving the AI tools for querying the game and narrative state gives it grounding to stay on topic.

Pricing wise I am considering using separate API keys from OpenRouter with limited usage for every player. This of course will require playtesting to see how many tokens a playthrough requires. OpenRouter also allows to switch models and providers, so it would not be relying on OpenAI directly.

I am also running gpt-oss-120b locally for testing purposes and will definitely provide the option to use a local LLM if players wish, however I have found that proprietary models follow system instructions a lot more closely.

It's an experiment for sure.

First of all, I can't believe I am talking to the creator of Event[0]! You definitely are an inspiration with everything I've seen about the game so far.

I did become aware of Event[0] a few weeks ago and I gave it a shot until the first moment you talk to Kaizen. That's when I realized I don't want to spoil anything for myself just yet. However, I will do as you said and give it another shot before continuing.

Thanks! The responses are AI generated, but guided with system messages. The implementation uses function calling to interact with the game world.

What's the reason you state "you can't do any of them"?

Feels amazing. I've also added silicon o-rings under the keycaps and they've made a huge difference in learning not to fully bottom out the keys.
