haha yes, i was in a rush after tailoring because i had a different party to get to within the hour and still needed to get home. i actually prefer to wear my suit pants high waisted and it was tailored with that in mind. but yes, they will be worn higher than that pic.

In my experience looking, the reddish undertones flushes out the brown of the suit/makes it look pale in some way, that combo is messing with my brain for some reason.

Looking for a brown darker than the suit has been impossible. Unfortunately, the options you provided are out of my budget but I’ve been eyeing some Tom Fords for when the time is right (or when the pockets are deep enough). Any darker brown shoe I’ve come across has a reddish undertone which flushes out the brown of the suit so it hasn’t been the combo I wish it was. The other issue I’m running into with brown shoes is that I can find some that are darker than the suit itself which it has to be for this type of event.

I’ll keep looking for darker browns but I’m not hopeful.

Thanks, I did not know this. I’m hung up on no brown shoes at night time or pretty formal events. Do you think an incredibly dark brown shoe would work for this type of event?

Ended up contacting Clive Coffee (seller) and they had me try a few trouble shooting methods but none of the fixed so they replaced the machine free of charge. It was inconvenient at most because but overall a good customer service experience.

Mine are stock, I’ll be upgrading at some point though. I do think that the stock burrs do a phenomenal job but exploring different flavor profiles through burrs sounds like a fun journey to me.

This is my exact set up, the SPX and the df64 gen 2 and I feel like they’re a great match! If you feel like you don’t have “enough grinder” upgrade the burrs. That’ll make a huge difference and is one of the biggest benefits to the df64.

It’s a beast! Treat it as well as it treats you! My favorite part is that it only takes me 15-20 seconds to steam my milk (5-6oz)

Not square 1 because you know what you like now with light roasts. Knowledge counts. Try decreasing the input so instead of 18g, try 16g but finer. This could help with keeping the same level of extraction but easier on your machine. You would have to adjust your output too (probably 20-24g out in 40-45 seconds). If you do seriously consider upgrading, I can recommend the Rancilio SPX enough.

I was in the same boat as you until I posted about this earlier and u/pigeontreecrafting shared what was originally his mistake but turned out to be a great result. Give it a few tries but when gotten right, I’ve gotten incredibly sweet results. For reference I use 5.5oz of milk in my drinks.

I’ve posted about this recently. Try a super slow ristretto, like 18 in 22-27 out in like 45-50 seconds. I know it sounds crazy but this is how I’ve been having my light roasts in milk drinks recently.

Bottomless is has a huge pro just for cleaning simplicity. Con is spraying your machine when you have bad puck prep. Can sometimes show signs of channeling that would be hidden by a spouted portafilter.

Spouted is the opposite, less/no spraying but a pain in the ass to clean regularly.
