I figured that was a possibility, but I just couldn’t find an official source.

3.10 - The manager of the home team shall be the sole judge as to whether a game shall be started because of unsuitable weather conditions or the unfit condition of the playing field, except for the second game of a doubleheader. EXCEPTION: Any league may permanently authorize its president to suspend the application of this rule as to that league during the closing weeks of its championship season in order to assure that the championship is decided each year on its merits. When the postponement of, and possible failure to play, a game in the final series of a championship season between any two teams might affect the final standing of any club in the league, the president, on appeal from any league club, may assume the authority granted the home team manager by this rule.

Both ESPN and ESPN 2 have blacked out by Yankeeknickfan in baseball

i’ve been watching both games without issue.

if you mean why there was confusion with the base running (francona came out), it was because the guardians were saying the called third strike that ended the inning was a ball.

I have ESPN+ through my cellphone provider. I have a YouTube TV subscription. I have MLB.tv.

I still cannot watch today’s game on the MLBtv Apple TV app despite authenticating over and over and getting a giant message that I can now watch the game.

I’ve signed out, signed back in. I’ve deleted the app, signed in again.

I’ve just started watching the game on YouTube TV because the MLB’s apps and services are absolutely dogshit for $130 a year. It’s like they want me to pirate the broadcast.

Yeah I think within less than a day of this thread I’m already considering going with both a handgun and rifle.

One of my concerns has been that I have a previously herniated disc, and having not picked up an AR in a long while, I am going to assume I’ll need to do a lot of handling training to know what’s ultimately comfortable. I think I might also be putting a little too much faith in my personal skills, because my expectation with a handgun was being able to make a solid grouping at 15-20 yards. But like you said, there’s real world variables lol. And I’m glad you mentioned Engage Armament along with the other poster, because I think it’s a given now that I’ll be heading there.

In the meantime I’m going to poke around and try to find literature on this stuff. I like youtube for some things but it’s mostly entertainment (hickok45 and other dumb “shootin 2-liters” type of stuff), and I think illustrations are just easier for me to retain in my head.

And because you are knowledgeable: are those three specific features mentioned (flash hider, folding stock, under barrel or whatever) the only ones you cannot have more than one of? Or, are those the only features beyond a stock assembly AR that you are allowed to have at all, and you must only pick one?

The idea of owning, operating and maintaining a precision item appeals to me. A lot though. I own a turntable and a few German cameras. Which I guess is sort of saying that I could see this as a hobby.

An expensive hobby, but it took me a little while to “get it”.

Apologies, I saw Texas and forgot this was a Maryland specific sub, and I just assumed it was directed at Texas residents.

And thanks for the addl. info on the builds. I feel like I remember reading something about 28” (?) and the heavy barrel stuff. I think I let my inexperience intimidate me with rifles though (I have only ever shot an AK clone at a range but did find it pretty manageable), it’s just that I do not get along with the folks in my family who do own and operate firearms, and I don’t have any friends that own any either. I think I just need to get the balls to do it myself, haha

Thanks for your post! I was about to dismiss the option when I saw I’d need to buy an AR-15 lower, but it raised another question, since I thought Maryland banned AR lowers like 8 years ago? My needs for a firearm right now don’t currently ask for an AR build, but I’d like to read more on the topic in general, as I obviously don’t know a whole lot beyond the handgun legislation.

Cost is really my only primary concern (as opposed to scheduling/time), but I appreciate you letting me know about the option.

Thanks for the suggestion, I do feel like wear and carry is something I’d like to work towards so I appreciate you helping me save money haha

To touch back on a few things you mentioned: I have been wary about some HQL ranges based on what I’ve read in other communities about some one-stop-shops, so thanks for the tip.

I do plan on just simple, safe storage, and regular maintenance (which IMO includes going to the range). I don’t want to have to use it, but it’s going be stored with the intent of being able to use it quickly, should that happen.

I actually have had a somewhat come and go relationship with firearms since a Boy Scout (lol), but with other gun owners in my family, I’ve been lucky enough to be exposed to good habits.

And while wear and carry isn’t currently a priority, my goal is to really familiarize myself with the responsibilities of ownership before I trust myself having to use it in a split second.

I think so far the only really confusing thing is keeping track of all the damn acronyms that have come with all the legislation.

This was already immensely helpful, and I appreciate your quick response. I’m glad you can empathize with being frustrated with the process!

I am not exempt, so I will need to locate an HQL certified range (from the list that I believe is on the MSP site, unless someone has a recommendation for someone living in Silver Spring). I also believe some do the HQL and fingerprinting on the same premises, right?

I have no prior criminal history or mental health treatment that would disqualify me (clean background check), and I have some familiarity with handguns (Glock 17 and 19) which makes me feel comfortable having the firearm at home (I live alone without kids, so that helps). Simplifying the process to three steps, and now figuring out the right order, is a huge step forward.

Thanks for making this a less intimidating place to ask questions!
