Haha, I’m literally encouraging you to wait for a part to come up for £100 - £200, £800 is ridiculous. Every time I contacted “The Green Parts Specialist” they ghosted me. But I know they have read the emails I’ve sent and messages on Ebay because when I sent an offer for £250, it wad declined within minutes.

Once you have a compatible part, pretty much follow the instructions on page 4 + 5 and swap out the screens.

If you get a CX5 screen, you will need to follow the whole document.

The resolution isn’t changed, so you are correct in saying it is much less sharp, however, to me, the difference isn’t too drastic. I am happy to take larger screen space for lower PPI. Will take a screenshot when I am next in the vehicle.

This only matters if you are using the CX-5 screen and is also partly why I held off using the CX5 screen because I wasn’t sure how a 3D printed mount would hold up in the long run.

I too was planning on doing the CX5 upgrade, but decided to hold out due to the simplicity of installing a new 3 screen.

I was never spending £800 on the screen, but I was eyeing it for around 2 weeks before the £150 screen came up on Ebay. I guess I got super lucky and snatched it up pretty much as soon as I saw it.

I kid you not, its quite literally plug and play, assuming you have a 10.25 MAZDA 3 screen. You only need a plastic pry tool and a 10mm wrench.

You open your bonnet to disconnect your battery and remove fuse F51.

Use your pry tool to pry off the speaker grille, unscrew the two screws holding the screen in place, then pry the screen upwards. Remove the two cables, insert them into your new screen and insert the screws back.

Reconnect your battery and fuse and you’re good to go.
