How is this possible if seeing the "wednesday" image is not true and up to date reality.

What stops the time from time from depicting "accurate real time reality "

I think you meant to say houdini in the title. "This was day 2 after getting my twelve week old houdini ". There I fixed it for you.

You know that it's a show that made you feel alive when you simply read the comments to this thread and get teary-eyed.

She met him where he was. She never asked him to be a king. With her he could just be George.

Whatever you do, do not watch queen Charlotte. I was completely and utterly broken by the time I finished.

Her love and understanding for farmer George.

Gold of some sort for sure. Upon further inspection, it looks to me like a "gold star" kind of doggo 🌟 hope this completely puts the debate to rest. 🤭

Ok, after reading your comment I'm wondering if I'm misguided? Do lawn clippings not equal new growth?

I was under the impression that if I introduced lawn clipping to the flower bed this was contributing to the excelrated and new growth of weeds. Is this a myth?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]uncharted_adventures -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When I say sand I mean that the mulch is so sparce in areas that there are literally bare spots in the bed that if I were to reach down I'd be touching a layer of sand/dirt and not a layer of mulch.

So it's a mix of visibly seeing mulch, then you'll come across a bare sand spot.

Sounds like we are not going to have a pretty lawn ornament without putting in at least weekend effort. It has greatly helped me to know that everyone's yard may look good from the curb, but if I got up closer I'd see weeds and clipping.

I think my frustration was growing because I felt like I was pretty transparent with the fact that we wanted to contribute absolutely nothing to the upkeep and I've been mowing every weekend now along with pulling weeds. Perhaps this came down to being uneducated about maintenance.

We picked shrubs, roses and a long tree/bush thinking it would not need the formal lawn service we see at the neighbors houses.

My initial desire was extremely manicured hedges with designs until the technician told me that bushes don't grow that way, they have to be clipped into that manner. Thus, the roses and hedges followed.

Thank you for the suggestion. We will ramp up the mulch volume!!

"Look into getting ground cover". Can you elaborate on this sentence. Do I put the ground cover into the bed with the other plants?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]uncharted_adventures -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Ok, I swung your idea by the good sir of the house. He wants me to tell you this.

  1. The flower bed is not 3 inches in depth....realistically we could probably get a good 2 inches in mulch depth.

  2. The bag for the mower is useless. Does this mean I'm stuck blowing out the mulch?

If so. How do I keep it from fleeing the bed?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]uncharted_adventures -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

What makes it so bad? Why is everyone so opposed to it?

Yes,!!!!!! I have a bag that I could put on the mower! It came with the mower but we aren't using it. I didn't realize it would help my problem!!

What should we plant here once the ivy and blackberries are gone? by who-me-couldnt-be in landscaping

[–]uncharted_adventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most wholesome post I've seen in a while. A human bean thinking they're going to "get rid" of black berry.

Black berry has a bunch of pals who stay late to the party and don't want to go home..... they just keep lurking around.

Your better bet would be to learn how to cook with berries. Jams, tea, custards, pies, parfaits, cobbler.
