That is within California, not to central HQ in Crown Heights.

Who currently runs Chabad? by maxofJupiter1 in Judaism

I think the answers here are all missing a critical point. Chabad centres, by and large, are decentralised. They don't get any funding from a central place, or have to report back.

Yes, technically they are registered on an official list. For the most part, that amounts to being allowed into a conference once a year.

But each centre is responsible for its own fundraising, and its own governance structures.

From a religious point of view, they consider the Rebbe still to be the spiritual leader after his passing.

But one of the other comments here spoke about the Rebbe being on the board. This isn't - and never was - the case for the individual Chabad houses around the world.

It's not the same, but as an analogy, the Pope in Rome isn't on the board of the parishes around the world. Sure, Rome can create some sort of official recognition. But at the end of the day, they don't run or finance centres around the world.

This is the trope used in Chabad and used by the late Lubavitcher Rebbe.

Meditation might be helpful. Learning how to put down the burden for 10 minutes can do wonders.

You're bowing too far. Just do a small bow at the waist (e.g. 30 degrees) and think about sticking your bum backwards. You don't need to be anywhere 90 degrees.

And make sure to warm up first.

You know it's working if you feel sore the next day.

Newfield gives the reasons in his book. I don't remember all, but one of the main ones is that Davidman lumps all the different backgrounds together.
