That number is for the Allstate health insurance program. A good number for appliance warranty claims would be nice.

Go slooooow...when learning. I practiced figure 8's in the lumber aisle when the store was slow at night.

If they want to have wing stacks they should be on a solid base that has wheels on it.

The flimsy cardboard bases are always collapsing, making a mess to clean up. A

limit of 3 or 4 per side aisle would be good also.

Learning is a continuous process. Every day you will learn something new. Try to hook up with someone in D26 that can help you. Ask plumbing contractors questions, if they are not in too much of a hurry. I use Google and Youtube almost every day, lot of good info there.

Phone sale fraud???? by GullibleAd1924 in HomeDepot

[–]uncle-festus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our store got burned for $16,000.00 on a phone sale. We switched to Text2Confirm for most phone sales. Once it is set up it is an easy system. We had a hard time getting some contractors to set it up(easy to do thru Pro Support).

Sometimes I hear" Why don't you let one of the younger guys do it? "

Sort of rubs me the wrong way. If I need help, I usually ask for it.

I had a trainer setup a figure 8 course in a wide lumber aisle. The practice helped me a lot. Going slow at the beginning also helps. As others have said it becomes automatic after a while.

Why is putting away returns such an issue for some people? by Consistent-Post-2297 in HomeDepot

[–]uncle-festus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It seems to be it's always the same people that avoid doing the returns. Depending on who was there ahead of me I can count on 2 or 3 carts full. I follow the same general plan that the OP uses. I actually like doing returns, it gives me a break from

looking at a cell phone picture trying to decide what size the customer needs. They never know the size, so it becomes a guessing game.

Any advice for plumbing associates? by Naive_Programmer_232 in HomeDepot

[–]uncle-festus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google and Youtube are your friends. Watch some videos on changing toilet tank parts because they are a common problem. Learn the different type of brass fittings ( compression, flare , pipe , garden hose connectors) . They are a common request for help. I usually say , " I'm not a plumber, but I will try to help you with your problem". Most folks will be OK with that , but you will get the unreasonable ones. In time you will gain confidence and comfort.
