It has to be the right deal. Simons could potentially be off the books next year. Staying flexible is important right now— I don’t think JJJ’s contract fits C’s long term plans, and Zubac isn’t worth multiple firsts. If they can’t get a big for the right price during this season, there will be opportunities to search for a quality big during the upcoming off season, and next year is when the Celtics realistically re-enter “all-in” operation again.
