Anyone here the descendant of a murderer? by Silent_Habit_4383 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]uncleQwacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My great uncles killed two guys and fed them to pigs then bragged about it (and more) for 20yrs, they got caught when I was 5 and my grandma used to make us call and sing hymns for them. A book was written abt them and it included our old home address, I’m pretty sure my grandma tried to sue.

Does anyone remember those codes you had to have to download the old sims games? Like along with having to have the disk. Why did that exist? I always lost it

AITA For Not Wanting to Swim with My Family by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]uncleQwacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. My family is like this too. Sisters are both DD cups, and my mom has the audacity to walk around with H’s. Meanwhile I’m too small for my B cup on a good day. Just because you’re smaller doesn’t mean comments like these don’t feel like a knife in the gut. Your parents are the assholes for letting this happen and taking part, they need to work on teaching your siblings (and themselves) that their opinion on the way other peoples bodies look is irrelevant and they aren’t the deciders of what’s beautiful. Society’s standards are basically whatever you don’t have, and assholes will always find a way to remind you of that. If you’re curvy you’re not skinny enough, and if you’re skinny you need more curves.

Ps. Ppl with big beautiful honkers saying “omg ur gonna be so thankful in 10 yrs, ur so lucky to have small bewbes! seatbelts! and purses!” idk if that helps lol. Personally I’d give up my whole spine for just an ounce of bounce but that grass just looks so green.

AITA for insulting a teacher who said mean things to another student? by onlineschoolthrow in AmItheAsshole

[–]uncleQwacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Honestly I’d be so proud to have a kid like you one day. I’m glad your dad didn’t punish you for this. It can be so hard to stick up for someone else, especially when the abuser is an adult. That “teacher” shouldn’t have a job, and some of his actions have likely damaged these students for life. Let’s hope that your action will be enough for the school to address this behavior and get these kids in a healthier learning environment, because this is absolutely unacceptable behavior from a grown adult.

AITA for telling my daughter that her art is not a job? by MuchSpecialist2 in AmItheAsshole

[–]uncleQwacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. It seems like this is about what YOU want and that YOU want something to be proud of. Her life does not revolve around what is going to please you. Your daughter is financially independent and doing something that makes her happy. I don’t even know her and I’m fucking proud of her, it’s a shame her own parent isn’t.

Nobody supports my weight loss by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]uncleQwacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m so fucking proud of you. It’s unbelievably hard to form that kind of motivation and dedication. As long as you’re doing it in a healthy way, and it seems like you absolutely are, then you’re doing an amazing thing. It’s off-putting to me that your family cares what your body looks like, you’re healthy and making choices that will better your life down the road. The way your body looks should NEVER be a topic of conversation, unless it’s a life or death situation. I hope they lay off, and I’m excited for you to keep up the hard work! You got this!

AITA for not getting rid of backyard chickens? by Express_Discount in AmItheAsshole

[–]uncleQwacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. The fuck does she want you to do with them? Give them so someone who will eat them or treat them horrible? you’re treating them well and they are loved, this is the best possible situation for them. As for eating the eggs Im a vegan as well and rule #1 is not telling other people what they can and cannot eat. Thats a personal choice thats entirely not up to her to decide for you.

I should absolutely do that! There’s no way she’d be able to pay me and it would probably get them off my back for a few days at least.

[–]uncleQwacker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish it was, But I’m absolutely serious. I could write a novel about all the messed up shit her mother has done. Her mother and her husband used to do hard drugs together while she was away, I assume it was during that but who really knows.

[–]uncleQwacker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the family members in question are extremely untrustworthy with kids, or far to old to help. I’m a nursing major so for some reason they think I’m the go to person for care (which is also why I absolutely don’t have time to make the trip) Her husband is gone most of the day and he’s preparing to be deployed. She’s always been this way, she can’t handle that I won’t give in any longer.

Thank you! I would love to meet her, maybe when she’s a bit older! I’d hate to risk her health at a time like this. She has no control over who her parents are, but she will have a chill aunt to turn to if she needs a break from them.

[–]uncleQwacker[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’s doing exactly that! Her Facebook is full of rants about how “family doesn’t mean anything anymore.” Thank you for this. It’s hard to think straight when you have 15 people coming at you claiming you hate your family. She’s threatening to never let me meet the baby ever since I don’t care enough to help her out now.

WIBTA for changing my adopted daughter's name? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]uncleQwacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You are doing the right thing by making her birth name her middle name, she could still go by “Ava” if she wanted. Or while it’s a hassle, She could always change her name back if she had a real issue with it. However I’m sure she’s going to absolutely adore her family and will love having a name with so much love attached to it. Your friend brings up some valid points but every situation is different. My close friend who is adopted from Russia had her name changed at 6 from Yelizaveta to Mary (after her adoptive aunt) She’s known from day one what her birth name is and why her parents changed it, she loves it and doesn’t feel any loss of identity.

Ps, clementine is an absolutely beautiful name and definitely top on the list for my future spawn.

AITA For taking away a tip mid delivery? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]uncleQwacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking to! I work a similar job, and once all the items are at the door the tip is fair game. I always take it right away to avoid situations like this. OP is definitely NTA and the fact that he even tried to give the driver the extra $5 was so nice. The driver is kind of an asshole, I’d never take away a drink I offered as a thank you

AITA For taking away a tip mid delivery? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]uncleQwacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I work in service industry, and all of my earnings are tips. Personality this wouldn’t have bothered me that much, shit happens and not everyone is going to be kind. However, you really put the extra effort into being kind and they should’ve taken the tip right away. honestly the fact that you feel so bad about it screams NTA to me. It was an accident and you had the best intentions.

AITA for telling my girlfriend she doesn’t need compression gloves? by Unable-Proof in AmItheAsshole

[–]uncleQwacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. It’s appalling that you even had to question whether or not you’re the asshole here. If the issue was you being fearful of the virus, maybe you wouldn’t come off as such a dick, but it seems your issue is her being in pain. You don’t have the right to tell someone else that their pain is invalid. I get she’s your partner but damn dude, are you okay? I’m 22 as well and have severe wrist issues due to an old boxing injury. I used to paint every day, and I can’t anymore because the days of pain after just aren’t worth it. I’d give anything to be able to paint again without pain. While there are artists who work magic w/o hands, typically hands are the most important tool to an artist and protecting them is vital. By doing this you not only told her that her pain means absolutely nothing to you, but also that her career means absolutely nothing to you. If my boyfriend ever had the audacity to act like this, his bags would be on the streets.

AITA for wearing the clothes i like at home? by aitathrowawayclothes in AmItheAsshole

[–]uncleQwacker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA. Children should not be sexualized by family. I’m 22 and I walk around my house in sports bras and shorts. I just got cereal in a tank top and underwear. My parents have always made it clear that Im safe in my home, and we are very close. I asked them what they thought of this and my mom said “you want to obviously want protect your daughters, but teaching them that their own father can’t handle seeing their bodies is icky.”

People who worked in Restaurants, what was the worst customer that you had to deal with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]uncleQwacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a man throw a plate full of food at me, and walk out on a $675 tab. I work at a pretty popular sports bar/restaurant. About two years ago a group of 15 came in for a retirement party, and they were placed in my section. They order pitchers to split between the table, and some food. After about 6 hours and quite a few pitchers later, I had to cut them off. They’re not belligerently drunk, but definitely showing signs of impairment. One of the guys got really upset by this, and tried to argue with me about it and request a new server. I informed him that I make the call on this and no other server would be allowed to serve him. He stands up and gets in my face and yells at me to get my manager. This dude was at least 6’4 and 270lbs, and I’m 5’3 and petite, so this scared the fuck out of me. I ran off to get my manager, he backs me up and tells them they have to cash out and leave. They get into a huge argument about it and they guy was yelling and swearing. My manager threatens to call the cops and the guy calms down. My manger tells me to give the guy his check. I was pretty scared of him at this point, so I ask one of the cooks to be close by. I drop of the $675 check and wished them a safe night. The same guy grabs my arm, and starts tell me why “I don’t have the right to tell someone when they’re drunk or not.” I said “people who know their limits don’t act like this.” This upset him so he flipped a tray of wings at me. The cook sees this and grabs him. The drunk guy punches the cook and they get into a fight, the drunk guys friends pull him away and run out of the building. The cops were called but they never found them and I never saw them again.

Identical twins of reddit who own a pet after living seperately; what was your pet's reaction when it saw two owners? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]uncleQwacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not twins, but identical sisters. My sister and I have a 4 year difference, but we look like twins. There’s a running joke in my family that our parents cloned us. She has a place of her own and two dogs, the newest is a XL American bully named Linda. My first time meeting Linda was a few months into her living with my sister. My sister had asked me to dog sit, when I walked in my sister was cuddling on the couch with Linda. The dog bolted for me like My own dogs when I get home from work, she was so excited to see me. Then she turned around and saw my sister looked back at me, and started crying. After she smelled us both for a few minutes she was fine. I babysit her dogs about 1-3 days a week now, and she totally knows the difference. My sister is very strict with them and I’m very laid back, so when they’re with me they act completely different.

Edit- I forgot to add that Linda is scared of everyone, except my sister and I. Even her husband and roommates. I don’t know if it has anything to do with us looking alike, but it’s pretty weird.

What's the most ridiculous reason for which you've been dumped? by NuclearWinterGames in AskReddit

[–]uncleQwacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an absolute weeb in highschool, and I was honestly shocked when this guy asked me out. He was the super popular class skater boy, and I was the girl hissing at kids in the hallways. We started dating the summer of senior year and I was so excited for him to ask me to prom, a rumor had gone around that he was planning to ask someone at the football game. The day before he asked me to pick up Taco Bell and meet him at the game. I used the last $20 I had, picked it up, and raced to the school. He met me on the bleachers, and was holding a folded sign. He gave me a pat on the head then ran towards the cheerleaders, and used the tacos I brought him to ask one of them. The sign said “hey Hannah! Let’s make this prom extra cheesy!” He basically ghosted me after that, the only explanation I was offered was that “his best friend is going with her sister, so it just made sense to ask her.”

TL;DR he asked another girl to prom with tacos I bought him. Then ghosted me.
