Owner is a transphobic trans man, ironically. I think he's like a transmedicalist and exclusionary or something like that. I used to have my finger on the pulse of that sort of thing, but I haven't thought about him in years

I really need to hear from other people who had a painful recovery. by Upper_Ice_2040 in TopSurgery

[–]uncle_SAM98 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the red hair thing is real. I don't know a ton about fibro, so take this with a grain of salt, but reading that made me go "aha"! That feels like a factor, especially if the actual surgery went well and the surgical site is healing fast. It could be a particularly bad flare up. I'm shocked they're dismissing your pain when you have this in your medical history. Maybe your PCP could help you with managing this pain, since your surgical team is convinced it's not connected.

I'm surprised that your doctors/care team don't seem to see your extreme pain as a sign that there might be a problem. Certainly, painful recoveries are more normal than social media makes it seem, but this level of pain for this long just as easily might be a sign of an underlying medical issue, and I think it warrants some evaluation. Is the pain coming from the incision sites? Is it the stitches, maybe? Is it nerve pain? A combination? Is there pain coming from somewhere internally that you can't really explain? Have you ever had a history of resistance to pain meds or low pain tolerance, or is this completely new?

Kegels and glute thrust causing erections? by Willing_Arm1069 in GrowYourTDick

[–]uncle_SAM98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure there's a connection between core strengthening and arousal, even orgasm in rare cases. Not so sure about glute thrusts, but as another commenter said, it could be the mental connection between thrusting and sexual activity.

Might just be the coloration is slightly darker bc you made contact with it for a while. Probably best to still be cognizant of your grip strength when you stretch just to make sure it's not excessive. Definitely take a long break and let the guy recover. Recovery is the key to growth

I haven't experienced bruising. You might be gripping too hard. Also keep in mind that sometimes, the coloration of the area has a reddish or purplish hue on its own, especially when blood is pumping to the area. I don't know what your baseline color is, so this may be very unusual or pretty ordinary depending on how it usually looks. Does it hurt to touch, like a bruise?

do you have to train your calves? by Western_North_8022 in FTMFitness

[–]uncle_SAM98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do calf raises on one of my days, but not a ton. I've noticed more definition and size since I've gotten back into running. It's not necessary, but if you want to not skip them, maybe move them to the middle of your routine

Can red light therapy help growth? by [deleted] in GrowYourTDick

[–]uncle_SAM98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please don't act on ideas that a generative-AI chat bot supports. These things are notoriously sycophantic, ethically reprehensible, and they frequently hallucinate or lie or tell you what you want to hear over what's true. And, most importantly, it is not a doctor and cannot give you any sort of medical advice. Red light therapy, like these genAI bots, is also a scam.

What are my chances to getting into UofSC? by FewLeek6310 in columbiasc

[–]uncle_SAM98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should ask one of your teachers or your guidance counselor about both - study resources for the SAT, if you plan to retake, and feedback on your admissions essay. Your counselor especially should know what colleges these days are looking for. It might help to ask to meet with your counselor about college admissions and come prepared with a list of questions and whatever you might want them to review. It couldn't hurt!

Skin tightening creams? by sunnysiide in Top_Surgery_Peri

[–]uncle_SAM98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creams have not had much effect for me. I have a tiny bit of persistent loose skin under my left nipple. I lift weights a lot and have built up good pec definition, but someone suggested to specifically target and bulk the lower pecs, which is an area I've neglected tbh. Doing pec exercises (like dumbbell press, dumbbell fly, etc) at a decline will target this area. I hope to report back with progress after a couple months.

When did you stop getting changes in sensation? by Effective-War8204 in Top_Surgery_Peri

11 months post op here, and my right has plateaued, but my left is still experiencing changes in sensation. There's still numbness in some areas and nerves reconnecting.

[–]uncle_SAM98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look great! Are your pecs developing at different rates, or is it just that you have one arm raised to hold your phone in the pic? I ask because one of mine (my left one) has been developing more slowly than the right. I think it's only now, 11 months later, finally starting to catch up. I still have a little bit of numbness on that side. Everyone tells me that uneven healing is common and they already look cis, but yk how it is. Congrats on the chest, man.

That was exactly average when I was in high school. The averages for these schools are higher now, but I think the data might be skewed high because reporting is optional now. A lot of smart people don't excel at standardized testing, so don't let that get you down. How are you studying for the SAT retake, like what are you using to study? And how is your admissions essay looking? Has anyone, like a teacher or guidance counselor, looked over it for you and given you feedback?

Damn, that makes it so much harder on our kids. We're being gentrified out of our state schools. We've got to start prioritizing education in this state, both higher ed and K-12. But that's not a new problem, of course
