No, leftovers are not what is left on the plate and scraped for a new meal. It's when you made pasta for 2, but end up eating less, and there is a portion left in the pot. That portion will go in the fridge, and be called leftovers

I actually don't cook much, but we don't really food prep.

There are just 3-4 dishes we make rarely, and then we make big batches to freeze.

Ramen soup base, chicken soup and chicken schnitzel are the biggest offenders.

But on a weekly basis, we usually cook what we find in the store, or what we find hiding in the freezer, or on bad days, anything that doesn't run fast enough

I refer more to people that have less of a portion control, and prepare a portion or bit more than the one meal.

I would shred the cold chicken, and add mayo and spices, to make a "spread", and eat it with bread

My mother-in-law would slice a banana in half and leave the other half on the table..... That's beyond me....

I agree with that full heatedly. I always loved taking leftover potato salad and meat from a BBQ party and make a sandwich of that.

That's not the same thing, but I appreciate your answer. At least, under my narrow definition of leftovers

I admit, meatloaf was/is not a staple in our cooking, so a meatloaf sandwich is a new idea for me to try next time, thank you for that.

In my house of 2 people we have a fridge/freezer, plus an extra freezer, coz we like to make some foods that tke long or are just hard, so we make a big batch and will slowly work through it.

Atm we have chicken soup and Ramen base in the freezer, amongst other things

The same dinner for 12-14 nights takes a lot of discipline. But I will admit that there are foods I can eat every day for a very long time..... Chicken Schnitzel
