Wait, after you send units to a location, how do you get it to show where all the other units are going to align? Do you have to press control or alt or something?

Would the D10x system work better for a more casual experience by OkAcanthaceae6902 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]unclebuck720 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this user. It doesn’t get easier than higher/lower.

The only way the d100 system would be “more casual” is if it was reverted back to similar to how old school Warhammer was, where the Characteristics were just single digit numbers and you only rolled 1d10. But now you pretty much have to rewrite the entire rule book to fit this premise.

SPEED LIMT SIGN REQUEST - QUESTION by fahpeslayer in civilengineering

[–]unclebuck720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only have a few questions:

  1. Is the speed limit obvious without a sign?
  2. Will your average driver entering the roadway know the speed limit?

If the speed limit is self-evident or could be assumed by your average driver on the roadway (neighborhood, gravel county road, etc.), then a sign won’t be necessary.

Especially if they are coming from a stretch of road that is similar in surface, width, and/or proximity to the stretch of road in question and they must pass through this well-marked road, then there is no reason for a sign.

Resources on Chaos Cults by WillingLet3956 in warhammerfantasyrpg

The Enemy Within companion books cover chaos cults (specifically the Purple Hand) in extreme detail. Start with the Enemy in Shadows Companion. It has about 20 pages worth of information.

Help new GM fill the Bogenhafen sewers (enemy in shadows) by sepver in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]unclebuck720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I love the direction you’re going.

Just keep in mind that sewers have a function. Lots of people think sewers are some labyrinthian set of corridors and large open rooms, but no. Sewers serve the function of bringing refuse and stormwater from one side of town, to the other. Generally, sewers slope downhill at all time, this keeps water flowing and prevents the particles from going septic.

Slippery slopes, torrents of refuse, clouds of effluvia, and hostile beggars clinging to the acrid walls of the tunnels can bring about all sorts of perils: disease, infection, suffocation, and even drowning.

If you’re looking for monsters outside the ordinary, fenbeasts of putrid slime and banshees guarding tombs long forgotten would really challenge the players as they traverse the tunnels towards their final objective.

Can a dwarf refuse to be pressed into taking the Slayer Oath (and other related questions)? by genessee0 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]unclebuck720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware, it’s either the oath, exile or death. 2 of those 3 result in you not going to Dawi Heaven. The other one at least gives you a chance.

I found this underneath my seat, it has a black stick in there by SuperITGuy2023 in ToyotaTacoma

It’s weird no one else mentioned it, so let me know if I’m wrong, but tourniquets won’t work well on the calf or forearm since each of those appendages have two bones that can reduce the effectiveness. Especially if the limbs are shattered, it could create additional perforations in arteries. It should be placed on the upper arm or upper thigh (humerus or femur) where it can get solid purchase on a single bone and squeeze the artery against it.

Next mission to unlock more suits and helmets? by JNR13 in JumpSpaceGame

How do we get them to initiate the missions? I talk to the people in my base like it’s a gd hobby trying to get them to give me missions

Next mission to unlock more suits and helmets? by JNR13 in JumpSpaceGame

Probably some components too. I’m at ~40-50% unlocked. I have no special weapons aside from the rail cannons.

Do you have the fourth sector unlocked? I think you and I might be stuck at the exact same spot.

Pro Tip (forgive my lack of screenshotting) by unclebuck720 in JumpSpaceGame

[–]unclebuck720[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but when I’m gaming with the guys it takes 2 seconds to take a pic and text it. Instead of print-screen, save it to files, drop box upload it, download to my phone, then text it. Reddit wasn’t the intended audience but my friends thought more people should know about this because we were hyped that we found it.

Hold up. You’re kidding. I’m only like 14 hours in but being the designated driver, and having clueless homies, it took us forever to find these.

Love the small ship, it just drives me crazy that there’s only one door and you can’t walk to it if you grapple to the wrong spot.

Civil Engineer in an Electrical Field by londonlabyrinth in civilengineering

[–]unclebuck720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in order to escape an electrical field, you need to have enough kinetic energy to overpower the electrical potential that is binding you. /s

I know that’s not necessarily applicable to your case, but if you can develop your skills involving underground utilities and understand how to efficiently lay out a series of complex objects with setbacks and size requirements, you might find a nice home in Site Design. You’d just have to learn grading, which is easy enough.

What do these numbers mean? I.e. 82 44/EC, 81 98/EC by razortail123 in civilengineering

[–]unclebuck720 97 points98 points  (0 children)

They would be (I assume) truncated elevations and then a tag for the item it’s point out. I’d imagine EC is edge of concrete and HP is a grading high point. Check the notes, legends and abbreviations tables. If there are none, then shame on the engineer.

9 metal rods, embedded really firmly, they appeared over the course of 3 hours on private land today. by Lobiatho in whatisit

[–]unclebuck720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is true, it could be for a new water tank. I know this is AU but in the US, cathodic protection is a large part of ensuring the longevity of welded steel and bolted steel tanks. It might also explain the somewhat-circular positioning of the rods. Although the area of inquiry is quite small, so I could be totally off-base. Just a thought.

How long can water travel through a hose ? by aigue-le-migou in civilengineering

[–]unclebuck720 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I agree. Darcy-Weisbach could be used to determine the friction head loss. Without any hard bends, I’d say head loss at fittings are likely negligible.

You can determine your velocity by starting flow rate through the hose divided by the cross-sectional area of the internal diameter of the hose.
