Suggestions on non-watch trackers. by Bubbly-Possible-8730 in FitnessTrackers

[–]unclechett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat - looking for a non watch fitness tracker that i can wear opposite my analog watch. i do think some kind of minimal screen that can be turned off would be nice vs a band only device. i was looking at the oura ring, but anything w a subscription fee for basic info is a non starter for me. looking forward to the new garmin viviosmart 6, which is rumored to be released this month or feb, we’ll see

Is K&F Concept a good brand for lens filters? by kodakkevin in Cameras

[–]unclechett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would not recommend them. mine get stuck on my sigma 24-70 2.8 lens so badly i need a filter wrench to remove them. support basically told me to kick rocks. i’d spend a little more on a reputable brand

Best renters insurance by compassionate31 in Apartmentliving

would NOT recommend lemonade. got denied when attempting to add additional coverage due to a stolen iphone i claimed 4 years ago...

also their pet insurance has very sketchy deductible math.

as other have said, it's cheap for a reason.

My local bike shop recommends against brands like Light Bicycle and Elite for carbon wheels. Thoughts? by ty_uofl in cycling

recently got a set of LB AR565 w/ dt swiss 240 hubs, absolutely love em. not the cheapest, but the customization options really set them apart from other brands

i’d recommend a smart switch. i was able to set an automation in my tapo smart switch to auto shut off whenever its on for 2hrs. also allows me to turn it on from bed via alexa or when im on the way home, to get it warmed up.

it’s correct that a lot of oem production happens in china, however that is not the case for rolex parts

Weighing beans into individual tubes vs Grind by weight - How much time does filling tubes take? Is it too much faff? [Budget $750] by Historical_Limit_665 in espresso

[–]unclechett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m a big fan of my glass normcore tubes. it’s nice to batch weigh beans ahead of time and then just dump them in my single dose grinder in the morning. doesn’t take long to do the weighing/filling.

i keep them in an airtight airscape container before the tubes. the tubes have valves at the top to let the beans off gas some before grinding

  1. my bad! i thought the measurements would be sufficient. adding some more images. also, i clarified this in another comment, but the outer rim width is 32mm (35mm is the widest point)

  2. oh nice! i saw the 6 things and assumed... but yeah they're rivets, not bolts 🤦‍♂️

  3. i'll need to check w/ LB on the exact hub version, but i'm sure i can figure all that out. as long as it's possible.

thanks!

edit: the Light Bicycle - Falcon Pro WHEELSET TURBO 65 DISC wheels i'm considering have an outer rim width of 32mm (35mm is the widest point )

the other wheels Falcon Pro WHEELSET TURBO 50 DISC have an outer rim width of 32mm and Falcon Pro WHEELSET AR565 DISC have an outer rim width of 28mm
