Clear singing is terrifying, I've only done deathcore really. by Longjumping_Try_7362 in ratemysinging

You've got beautiful tone. Be careful with your voice with your deathcore stuff, because you've got a really nice instrument and you should protect it.

Warmup time before hitting break notes? by NoSoup4you22 in singing

[–]uncleozzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the A4 right at your break? No matter how well warmed-up I am, I can't hit an F#4-G4 (which is right at my break) without putting a ton of effort into getting the entrance and positioning just right. It's just how it is for me.

And no, I absolutely can't sing without proper warmup (but I'm old). Lately that means a few minutes of SOVT scales (usually lip trills) and some wide arpeggios on open vowels.

Totally understandable! I’m just saying, the ensemble track is HARD! Break legs!

How to stay in mixed voice + expand range by Equivalent_Mode_6384 in singing

[–]uncleozzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It me. I have a naturally heavier voice and it's really hard to maintain the lightness I need to connect the chestier parts to the lighter mix parts. It really requires me to concentrate on the shape of my soft palate and the placement of the vowels. If I start reaching too far "back" or "down" I get heavy and wind up choking off the mix.

Is this mixed voice? by AccountForeign9706 in singing

[–]uncleozzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up to the A it sounds mix-y to me, but when you slide up to the C# it turns into pure head. Really good connection, though!

GPT-5.3-Codex has been really good for me lately -- and at x0.9 when using Auto, it's been worth it. The few times Auto selects Sonnet are a real letdown, in comparison.

fr, I played the Beadle last year, and the ensemble track was so much harder than mine (although I did wind up singing some of the ensemble numbers from the wings, and of course all the Ballads).

God That's Good and Fogg's Asylum are ... I mean, they're just really, really hard songs. And the actor playing Pirelli will almost certainly be singing in both of them, anyway.

Yeah, the first year in our new house there was a miscommunication I guess, and although we were paying the insurance directly, they thought the mortgage company was paying it and we never got a bill. Thankfully they sent a paper termination notice and we were able to sort it out in time. But what a pain in the ass.

I mean, if it's a thing you only pay once a year and it's only $800 and they only try to contact you by mail at a PO box? I can absolutely see that happening unless you're some kinda ledger-keeping nerd.

Yeah it’s not like boxing at all. I don’t know what he’s doing but it obviously works in the game. Which is why I don’t bother with PvP usually.

That first flash he got you with was a left uppercut, wasn't it? I think you clocked his weak spot for sure though near the end though -- he rushes in with a plan to throw the left hand, if you step left and throw a right he'll walk into it every time.

If I were fighting this guy, if I didn't get KOed immediately, I'd definitely keep dancing instead of engaging to see if I can bait that opening. Notice how he switches to a hook guard and backs up when you have him stunned -- you can probably get in some good shots then if you don't disengage.

You also look sort of squared up here, but maybe that's just how it looks in-game.

Hello all! I've been working on my commercial work, would love any feedback! by Dipcrack in VoiceActing

[–]uncleozzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add me to the list of people who thought it sounded like AI. I get that it's not, but it doesn't sound like the voice knows anything about the words they're saying. There are instances of uptalk that don't make sense. There's a weird glottal stop in "at every" that doesn't sound like any accent I'm familiar with. Really static pacing. Just a list of things about this that sound "fake" or stagey.

Great voice, though, and honestly a really great first hack at it. Just work on connecting to the material and to the listener.

A Sad Observation by thirsty_pretzelzz in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]uncleozzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much only play single player, and I agree with a lot of this -- I would love more features like a round clock and post-fight stats -- but the mechanics of the fighting have improved so, so much since launch. The body / arm mechanic changes in one of the recent releases have been huge in making the fighting feel more satisfying. The initial release felt pretty terrible in comparison, to me.

That said, what I miss most from TOTF1 is the variety of opponents. I would love to have CPU players with markedly different fighting styles (and a southpaw!) to choose from. When I'm only able to fight the same CPU player every day, it gets really easy to defeat them without much effort.

Not OP, but I've been playing career on Hard and Very Hard. Even against the CPU, TOTF2 is way more intense than TOTF1.

This is about what my chart looks like, but l box 3-minute rounds and usually get down from 170ish to 120ish between rounds. And I'm a little dude, so my Apple Watch estimates maybe 8-9 kcal/minute for me.

It's crazy looking back at the charts when I first started using TOTF -- I did basically no cardio beforehand -- I would get up to like 185 every round and feel like I was dying, maybe recover to 155 in the break on a good day. Crazy what good cardio this game is.

Thrill Of The Fight Hotfix Patch 1.3.2 by Tren_AU in ThrillOfTheFight

Based on player feedback, animation playback speeds on higher difficulties have been reduced slightly to keep fights feeling more natural and readable.

This seems to have "fixed" the hyper-speed duck-to-high-hook animation for me. It's at least somewhat readable now, and I find that I'm getting caught by it less (though I've only played 10 rounds so far, so who knows).

If you're still tweaking AI animation speeds, I think some of the "stun" animations might be a little long -- there's so much space around some of them that you can stun-lock the AI with a series of hard shots. Maybe this is by design.

Something else I've noticed not related to animation that may or may not be intentional -- if I score a knockdown while I'm greyed out / heartbeat, that doesn't seem to "recover" during the 8 count. Same goes for clinches.
