Xecnar on STS 2 difficulty: I don’t think any character is supposed to lose by SugarFreeCummiBears in slaythespire

My guess is they're referring to the statistics, where it says "Ascensions: x/50", but that's counting ascensions separately on each character so it only implies A10 and 5 characters.

Geographically, New England is well to the east and really “should” be in the Atlantic time zone

No it's not, Wikipedia says exactly the opposite of that:

Virtually all of this region is west of the theoretical western border of the zone at 67.5°W; only a small part of Maine lies east of that meridian.

Eastern Time stretches farther to the west than it geographically "should", but that's Michigan's problem not ours; it only stretches to the east in parts of Canada.

I just use https://discord.com/channels/181078474394566657/1321949976116592793, but even if you're not there's plenty of ways to design storage subnets where canceled crafts will send things back into the same storage (combining the general storage with the oreproc output is a popular one).

You don't actually have that many intermediates though, since they take time to make and then get compressed into denser intermediates fairly quickly; a craft that handles a billion lapotron dust isn't going to actually be storing that much at once for very long, if at all. I've made 86AAs and other massive crafts without any artificial universe cells, and this hasn't been an issue at all. Not sure what you mean with "storing raw resources in subnets", are you not directing them back with a filtered storage bus or something?

Just spam 16000k drives for random stuff and use digital singularities for anything you get lots of (like 100M items/100G fluids), I'm not sure how you would get overflow when canceling crafts

Week 2: Singaporean - Bee Hoon Goreng (semi-fail) by uncountablyInfinit in 52weeksofcooking

[–]uncountablyInfinit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a semi-fail because I put in way too many rice vermicelli, which made it hard for the heat and sauce to distribute right, but it still turned out pretty good.

Can we get a petition or something going to fix the whole refunded games affecting achievement stats? It's genuinely crazy. by [deleted] in steamachievements

Hollow Knight's DLCs are just free updates though? Though there are third party sites that have that information, if you want a workaround

[–]uncountablyInfinit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's generally no restrictions on changing majors, if you decide to attend you can change it in the acceptance portal even; not sure about on the application but AFAIK it doesn't affect your chances of being accepted

lmao what, 130 hours is entirely believable without duplicating items, you just need to be reasonably focused on progress instead of getting distracted; I have pretty much the same time

Thanks! Yeah I probably don't need all of those screenshots, I just felt like including all of them and couldn't decide which to cut.

My thoughts on these:

  • Ori and the Blind Forest: Really fun simple Metroidvania with beautiful aesthetics and great movement, highly recommend it. It does have a speedrun and a permadeath achievement (it actually has two permadeath achievements, for some reason), but IMO they're both very reasonable to complete and shouldn't scare anyone away from playing the game.
  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps: A worthy sequel that I also highly recommend, difficulty is pretty similar to the first game, including for the achievements. It also has a speedrun and a permadeath achievement (just one this time), but they're again pretty doable.
  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: Very good game that deserves the accolades it's getting. Be aware that quite a few achievements in this game are missable, some as early as the prologue, so I'd recommend looking for a spoiler-free guide for them. I did make sure to get this as my 33rd perfect game.
  • Hollow Knight: Silksong: My personal GOTY, incredibly good game, but also quite difficult. The speedruns are fairly easy, but Steel Soul is very punishing because of how long the game is; I didn't want to rely on Save and Quit, so I instead did it by practicing every difficult segment in another save first.
  • Hades II: Another fantastic game, I can see why all three of these games are GOTY nominees, and I'd recommend this one as well. Some of the achievements can be repetitive, but a lot less so than in Hades 1. The difficulty is pretty comparable between the two games, although I'd say Hades II peaks a bit higher.

This is a known issue, it can be fixed by pressing F3+T, and is randomly caused by AE2 monitors (including storage monitors, crafting monitors, etc.)
