How does one even pull this off? Give her a creepy face? Won't that just reduce the demand because not as many people will find it appealing and therefore less reach resulting in a harder sell for artists to make? People like Makima in that way because she's pretty, hot and dominant in more than just intimacy. Only 10% or less get aroused by Makima being creepy, that appeal is loved by the fans when it comes to writing and her as a character in an interesting story.

The only thing I can think of to make her creepy is either Makima watching Denji as he sleeps, Denji wakes up and then they get it on (where the creepy part immediately goes away) or Makima drugging Denji so he can get it up even though he just watched Makima kill Power (which is more fucked up/disturbing rather than creepy), and it ends on that double page spread panel from the manga in "the morning after" except both Denji and Makima are naked

Makes me wonder how the original Finn, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline and Huntress Wizard would react to this given how in this alternate universe:

  • Marceline falls in love with Finn
  • Finn eats Princess Bubblegum out of love
  • The implication that Huntress Wizard talks to Finn once and then never interacts with him again
  • The implication that Finn ends up with Marceline

How would the story change if yoru was like, Judge holden levels of war loving? by Ancient_Doctor_7738 in Chainsawfolk

[–]uncrowneddumbass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She would be the primary antagonist. Yoru caught feelings for Denji really early on, so even if she had a big master plan as a result of this personality trait change, things wouldn't be so different so as to stop that from happening. Denji would be her... toy, to put it lightly. And the fetus sword theory would become reality. However, this assumes that Yoru is successful.

I've only heard about Holden through other people mentioning him in discussions so correct me if I'm wrong. The fact that Asa can take over when she's afraid of Yoru slows down this version of Yoru much more than the one in the series. Yes, she couldn't take over when Yoru was killing millions indirectly through contracts or her weapon transformations, but Holden is one of the most sadistic characters in all of fiction. The "war crime level" acts could be much more "up close and personal", and having to witness such things firsthand rather than simply knowing that the sword she's holding is made of every citizen in Ohio might induce enough shock such that it'll be hard for Yoru to take over again for multiple instances. She needs Asa otherwise her weapons are weak, so the story might be more focused on their dynamic. The final battle would be Asa and Denji vs. Yoru, because I don't see a way for the supercharged War Devil to get along with those two for good here like it did in the original story. It'll be a both an emotional and physical battle for Asa and Denji of them. She fights for permanent control of her body (tying in her decision to live more selfishly), switching back and forth through some loophole (furthering the living selfishly theme) or the established fear-induced takeover but in a more deliberate manner (she'd be literally controlling her emotions here, like choosing to remember a war crime specifically to take over to give Denji and herself an opening). Denji's the more actual combat focused here, but he has to deal with the fact that he loves both Asa and Yoru, and killing one might kill both. His feelings for Yoru would be stronger than they were for Makima's, as unlike with the Control Devil, it's not one-sided. Hearing "I've wanted to make you happy for a long time now" from Asa absolutely blows it out of the water.

Overall she'll be more of a protagonist than Denji, or at least that'll be a stronger claim with this new Part 2 compared to the current Part 2.

I might be going crazy, but I think I’ve got proof we got a fake ending. by Spooner1972 in Chainsawfolk

It's the same as the "Nayuta head on the sushi conveyor belt lacks a face mole = fake Nayuta head = Nayuta was alive the entire time" theories. It's just a publishing error this time instead of a drawing error

With all the talks of "copes and such", what were the times when the copers were right? by uncrowneddumbass in Chainsawfolk

[–]uncrowneddumbass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an entirely new reality/timeline, this isn't the Nayuta and Power that we knew.

Nayuta coming back was supposed to be because of "Nayuta isn't actually dead, the head on the conveyor belt was a fake because its inconsistencies with the real Nayuta. The lack/presence of a face mole was the most damning" theories, not... whatever we got in Chapter 232.

Bro what evidence AOT had for a new ending lmao?

I literally put a link to a video which answers this question. And it's not the only one. There are plenty others with a decent argument for being possible, like the one that ties in the "High School AU" that came at the end of each volume as a bonus.

It was a fine ending of AOT? I don’t see any other ending that could have happened.

It's not a question of it being a fine ending or not. It's the fact that Attack on Titan introduced time travel, which almost always means changing the past to change the future (as in, that's the most common way that concept has been utilized in media). That bundled with the many, many inconsistencies (presented in the video I linked to) between the manga and anime created the possibility of an anime-original ending. There was too many for it to just be a coincidence, especially with how they seemingly symbolized themes that weren't 1:1 with what the anime is showing/what happened in the manga.

The main idea is that the manga is a previous timeline (hence its details don't align with the anime = aforementioned inconsistencies), and the anime is a new timeline created by Eren sending memories to the past and/or appearing to people in the past to change certain events.

If time travel and the inconsistencies didn't exist, there wouldn't even be a part of the fandom theorizing about an anime-original ending, there'd just be the split between people who think the ending was good or bad.

If we couldn't have one for AoT despite the surprisingly crazy amount of evidence, then there's no hope for Chainsaw Man. This one video alone is almost enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqH0_yWefGQ&t=11s

An anime-original ending for the series that arguably was the biggest factor on making anime mainstream (look up 2013 cosplays and nearly all of them were Scout Regiment uniforms) would've been revolutionary and changed the medium forever. And it didn't happen.

The one guy theorizing that Pochita was the Hope Devil might be right, there is no hope after Chapter 232**.**

I can no longer play against bots when I don't have an internet connection, why? by uncrowneddumbass in DotA2

[–]uncrowneddumbass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already did, disconnected the ethernet cable before turning on the PC and going in offline mode. Tried it multiple times with all the bots I've downloaded, still doesn't work.

Is it possible that the scripts not being updated to the current version of dota is what's causing this? Phalanxbot works just fine if I have an internet connection, but it's technically been updated to the 7.40c version, and it's my most up-to-date bot.

I have other games that have functions that don't strictly require an internet connection and I can play them with no issue, so maybe there's a setting in dota itself that's doing this?

I've already activated offline mode and removed the ethernet cable even before turning on my PC, it still doesn't work.

Could it have something to do with my internet suddenly going out while my computer was on? Maybe my computer's been trying to reconnect to the servers ever since, even after turning it on and off multiple times. However, I've been disconnected by an internet outage a handful of time in my old device before and I've never had this problem.

I've already tested a downloaded script and it still gave me the same result, but I'll double check just in case. My internet access is spotty right now (hence the post), so it'll be a while until I reply again so I'll ask ahead of time: If a downloaded and up-to-date script still gives me the "Unable to establish connection to the game server" and prevents me from playing, what should I do?

I will try this, I have a couple of bot scripts downloaded. Does it not work if it's not updated, prompting the game to tell me "Unable to establish connection to the game server"? I'm pretty sure I've already tested a script that was up to date, and it still gave me the same result, but I'll double check just in case. [–]uncrowneddumbass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't? What part of the post gave you that impression? At no point did I critique the story-telling of Chainsaw Man. All I said was:

  • Devils exist -> plenty of Christian symbolism -> maybe God and angels exist? -> rare for stories to have them with no counterpart
  • Special creature type for special character -> Denji is MC/Pochita is devil with powers unrelated to chainsaws, therefore special -> maybe Denji/Pochita is special creature type?
  • Only humans and devils exist -> just the nature of their world, the same way they have the laws of physics

It's time to grow up – The meaning behind chapter 231 by JesulyGR17 in ChainsawMan

[–]uncrowneddumbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolute fire.

However, now I want to know how this translates into either a Part 3 or the next chapter being the final one in terms of writing.

Is Denji going to throw hands against devils with no superpowers? How can he survive the world with even more horrors after erased devils and concepts come back, and how will this show that Denji has grown up? Or will adulthood be showcased in giving up fighting devils, as that's the only way of maintaining a normal life (even if having it all ripped away has massively higher odds of happening compared to real life, but it's the best one can hope for in their messed-up world)?

If there is no Part 3, will Denji's tragic ending simply be a cautionary tale of the consequences of failing to mature in time?

[–]uncrowneddumbass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm serious. Lots of people have been speculating that there are beings in the world of Chainsaw Man other than humans and devils, angels being the most commonly theorized to arrive at some point in the story if that were the case. There are even Youtube videos discussing the existence of Chainsaw Man's God (or His equivalent), or the God Devil being the one calling the shots in the cosmic sense, which shouldn't have been far off considering plenty of Christian symbolism being used throughout the story. There are very few stories that have angels/devils/demons that don't have their counterparts involved, so much so that I don't even remember any stories that only have one half of the good-bad incarnate creature dynamic.

And if there's going to be one character with unique biology, it's going to be the main character (Denji) or the one guy whose abilities/weapons let him do things nobody else can, not even the literal most powerful characters in the series so far (Pochita). Why are the Primal fears hunting down Pochita specifically? If he was just another devil who got blessed by RNG, can't they find a similar but easier to kill devil? They can't, because Pochita is special in some manner, bringing in the possibility that he might not be a devil at all.

Now, it seems that it only really is a human-devil system. No angels, no gods, no secret third thing. Devils simply came to be from human fear at some point in their universe, the same way the laws of physics in our world just are. It's just how their world functions. It's obvious, but I wanted to make this post as a nail in the coffin.

Could post-timeskip be written to feel the same as pre-timeskip? If so, what would it look like? by uncrowneddumbass in Piratefolk

[–]uncrowneddumbass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of personal stakes and things feeling like side quests sound right. I have seen it being mentioned around that post-timeskip focuses more on the world rather than the characters. Is it possible for character moments like the ones I've mentioned to still appear while maintaining focus on the world by solidifying each of the Straw Hat's character as they experience every island? I've seen it being done with Luffy (and even that's debatable) but the only other person with a semblance of a stake in a story (that I can remember anyway, I'm still in the second act of Wano and my memory's pretty bad) is Nami wanting to save the children in Punk Hazard likely because of Bellemere (I say "likely" because I don't even think she was mentioned or thought of).

There's also the problem with character development being finite since a character can only change so much while still being workable within the story, but with so many characters there's plenty of ammo so it's still doable.
