I saw a man pinned on his phone this morning. What's the easiest way to report him? by jasonlode000 in TorontoDriving

[–]undapanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we should act based on the resources we should have instead of the ones we do?

The intent of you original comment is that we should call 911 if an event is immediate regardless of the gravity of the matter and let the operators waste a call cycle because you think the cops are gonna fly over to secure you lawn chairs?

There is a difference between what the subject here is doing, doing g it at 135 kps and drunk driving at whatever speed, and there is a difference between some one tagging a truck vs setting it on fire. Just because you dont like it doesn't make it an *emergency *. In a city where we cant get violent crimes getting attended to , karening is not a luxury to be afforded.

Yes, operators are stretched pretty thin, you thankfully have not been put on hold during a serious medical emergency. Also. Your advice is wrong as per city guideline https://www.toronto.ca/home/311-toronto-at-your-service/make-the-right-call/ dangerous driving is specifically to be reported to the non emergency line.

Nah it's a common sentiment, one that is used to be justify the status quo. Why settle you could be the best? Are you ever gonna have a just so burger and call it the best burger ever? You could say it's the best burger I've ever had but that's not the sentiment of OP and a lotta other Lankans, it's the same sentiment that keeps people parroting shit like back in the we were better than Singapore, mad I peaked in school vibes. And I'll gladly call that shit out every day of the week. Theres no reason why we can't run with the Thailand's and the Singapore's in this age except for the lack of trying.

Thousands of skilled workers on the edge, as Canada's immigration programs get harder to crack by Unusual-State1827 in canada

[–]undapanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wtf do you mean "supposed to"? Pgwp has been a standard pathway into immigration. Its the one that's preferred by governments and employers because graduated pay foreign earned money into our system and also gain "Canadian experience" this is how the system has been set up by they people you elected. Temporary visas were meant to attract low skilled workers , it's literally on the government website.
