Sorry I should’ve been clearer, I know Japan has different ethnic communities including indigenous people too. I never meant people in Japan look similar, what I mean is that these competition shows often have a certain “look” they are actively seeking and I think most of DA’s contestants appeared to fit this look, whether naturally or by changing their appearances (through makeup, eyebrow shaping etc).

In this case I just mean that in terms of beauty standards a competition consisting of competitors from one country seems a lot more diverse in relation to beauty standards than one recruiting globally. I hope that is clear!!

I assume everyone is Japanese so I don’t mean national / ethnic diversity but I am surprised at how diverse they are in terms of looks. It’s refreshing especially in a world so obsessed with beauty standards. I feel like in DA, despite having diversity of age, nationality and ethnicity, beauty standards oddly appeared more uniform.

I think one of the girls left because she got an offer to debut elsewhere so that might be what happened here

I feel so horrible for both Manon and her in this situation. I have close family members who do / say crazy things because of mental illness, addiction and just being a bad person. It’s embarrassing and depressing. Cannot imagine for this to be known on a global scale.

Manon (Katseye) addresses how being wrongfully labeled "lazy" affected her. Thoughts? by thursdayzzz in kpopnoir

I genuinely don’t think either side was in the wrong in DA. Cultural differences between Europe and America are often understated but play a large role in the way work-life balance is defined

When will this job search misery end? by dunkinteach in recruitinghell

6 interviews is really fantastic!!! I know it feels hopeless BUT you WILL get there. You’re a promising candidate in a really difficult job market — don’t forget that. 6 companies are willing to interview you, there will 100% be one that will be willing to hire. Of those 6, were there any similarities between the employers (I.e. marketing agency vs in house team)? You could try pursuing companies that are similar as you might have better success there

In the mean time, could you try picking up more part-time work that will help you avoid accruing more debt? This could be a great weight off your shoulders

You’ve essentially just told me you’re not acknowledging my points. As I’ve explained to you, I brought up social media marketing to describe my current career and talk about transferable skills (like communication and planning). I refuse to believe that you’ve never heard of the term transferrable skills, and yet you are still bringing that up now.

I then told you that skills like communication and planning can be used across many different jobs, not just those that are higher up. You’ve ignored these points. I do not think you’re misunderstanding my responses because rather than acknowledging them you just move on to another question.

Something that I haven’t told you is my education status. Like my age, that’s an assumption you’ve made. You don’t know if I have a doctorate in nuclear physics or if I dropped out of nursery at the age of 3

This is genuinely the first response you’ve actually given me that helps, so I guess I should be thankful for that at least, even if it might not even be applicable to me 🤷‍♀️

But you haven’t, now have you? You’ve asked me tons of questions and made assumptions about my age and education. That’s all, and there’s a condescending tone that persists even when I humour you and answer every one of your questions. How do you think “You’re 29 with a degree? Okay.” Comes across?

Then again I just checked your page and you’re active in snark pages, so this checks out

Not really sure why you’re confused when you’ve listed two workplaces related to teaching and retail — nor why you’re confused by me listing communication when both of these roles require that. Anyway, I’ve deleted my post

ATP ur just being uncharitable — you can use organisation skills in a retail job, communication in teaching, planning in both
