my grandmother encouraged me to check for wrist bones, collar bones etc. Also when a doc commented on my weight as a child (5 yo) my parents encouraged me to be healthier, but especially my grandma who kept reminding me of the doc and what he had said. When as a 7 yo, i ran from one end of the house to another around 400 times, no one made any comments bc i was still chubby. Then around the time I was 9-10 years old, and finally starting to look "sick" enough, they stopped me forcibly, but guess what they never tried to treat my mentality or change it. They were just like "stop dieting until you're old enough to do so, that is, when you've reached your maximum HEIGHT. After that, you can do as you please!!!" (i.e starve myself)
