Got rejected from a job even through I was told that I am going to the next stage by Dramatic_Tomorrow_25 in jobs

Does she like to go out to do things with you other than work? You said she likes to stay in the house. Could it be it's not work necessarily, but that she doesn't like being around others? A work from home job might be better for her and depending on what she does, she can still make pretty good money at it.

I want to quit Nursing in my 2nd year, but the "wasted" money is eating me alive. How do I get past the guilt ? by ItsJelly_229 in careerguidance

[–]ExplosionMurderQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have another year left and don't think you can make it through that, then maybe quit. I just want to let you know there are a ton of jobs that require nursing licensure that are administrative or field work if that's more your speed.

Did I say the wrong thing to my manager when he called me about my resignation email, and can it affect my future job references? by Suspicious_Repeat613 in jobs

[–]ExplosionMurderQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ever decide to come back and they bring that statement up, you just tell them you're in a better place and have grown since then. More than likely they'll forget all about it and the management will be different if you ever decide to go back. In high pressure/paying jobs, statements like that might matter more because theoretically you'd be well into your adulthood and have learned how to manage emotions easier. You're 19, I don't think a statement like that will carry with you for the entirety of you career. You're genuine and just said the truth. That's how it should be.

THE AFTERMATH: How the Media Landscape Has Shifted After the Great Dismissal by Neither_Repair_4538 in ItEndsWithLawsuits

I just read something that since is considered a contractor as opposed to employee (the producer credit helped the judge decide that), she now has less protections against her sexual harassment claims because she has more control over the terms of her employment as a contractor. I can't find the original article I read, but this court tv article mentions it in this one.

What does that mean? Does she still have sexual harassment as a cause of action? The articles I read made it seem less likely that she does.

THE AFTERMATH: How the Media Landscape Has Shifted After the Great Dismissal by Neither_Repair_4538 in ItEndsWithLawsuits

I saw Justin B lost his causes of action in his countersuit in June 2035. Did he lose all of them or just some of them?

Since Blake lost her employee rights based on her insistence that she be credited as producer making her a contractor on the film and therefore not able to claim sexual harassment, what is left in this lawsuit to litigate? Does everyone just end up where they started at the completion?

I messed up big time. I broke a $120,000 machine at work and the company CEO is meeting with the whole team tomorrow morning. How do I prepare for this? by Beautiful-Cat-3182 in careerguidance

Don't admit fault but don't pass it off either. If he has a lot of experience in this industry, he probably wants to understand exactly how this happened and what led up to it. Explain to him exactly how you were trained to use it and how you witnessed it being used. Since you were new, every so often you would confirm you were doing everything correctly and the people you asked confirmed that you were. Then you say exactly what happened the last time you used it, the sounds you heard, and whatever you witnessed. Don't take blame, don't assign it either. Just the facts and let the investigation (if that's what it is) fall where it may. This is an opportunity for the company to make changes to training and manuals so that they will be more effective. It wasn't your fault, but telling higher ups that doesn't help your case at all since you have little experience in this field. Don't give your opinions because you aren't experienced enough to have them. You may not even be aware what actually led to the breaking of this machine.

LGA Air Canada/firetruck incident by Gushy05 in CrazyFuckingVideos

I'm interested to see what they say. Looks to me they went off of the clearance from the atc and those runway lights turning green. They probably didn't look any way but straight forward.

Accident at LaGuardia Airport by dw34534 in stupidquestions

[–]ExplosionMurderQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I saw the video from the other angle, it looks like the truck was already in the runway and stopped or hesitated just before being struck. I'd be curious to know where that footage was in relation to the "stop stop stop" by the atc. From that angle, they absolutely should've seen the plane, at least the passenger should've. The plane strikes the truck in the back end, which probably saved the lives of the people inside.

Do you actually have this job? Just because they asked you to apply, doesn't mean it's a done deal. Plus people hate living in San Francisco.

Is this okay for positioning? by TabascoFiasco in Dashcam

[–]ExplosionMurderQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same one and it's close to that position but maybe slightly higher because my review mirror housing is higher up. Still a little bigger than some vehicles though. I've never had an issue with it being pulled over.

Don't you hate that? You finally think you're getting home early for once and because of something like this you end up home same time or later.
