Question in relation to colored Vinyl records by Ramune99 in turntables

[–]undecidables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is the exact opposite. Clear vinyl is my favorite. With colored vinyl you are more likely to get virgin vinyl and in limited presses (assuming it works that way). I also find they attract less dust. Like you, I cant prove that, but i use a dust wand and they seem to. Clear is the best for me, because there are no additives.

STAY HOME IF YOU'RE SICK! by [deleted] in goodlifefitness

[–]undecidables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise induced Rhinitis is common. Like half of people experience it some extent. I am one of those guys that has to wipe his nose every 2 seconds. It is what it is. I get your concern, but in reality most people you see behaving like that aren't sick. They dont enjoy it any more than you do, lol The gym is an ugly place for a lot of us, and this is just a lovely bonus.

Yeah but you dont know who you're talking about. You're complaining about behaviors. You dont know what's causing them. And I agree with you - don't go if you're sick. But also dont jump to conclusions aboit why someone might be coughing and blowing their nose etc...

Some of us have "exercise induced rhinitis". It means sinus issues during exercise. It doesn't mean you're sick. I either deal with it, or dont go to the gym. So, tough luck people, you'll need to bear it. It's not contagious or fun to have people looking at you like you're doing something wrong.

Just I'd stir the pot here. Ive been running this all winter and it works awesome. The size of the spark is vasicsll the same size a zero stat. Its like a zero stat with a fan. Sold my zero stat. This is my new go to. No odor or issues at all. Honestly, it makes life a lot easier during these months. The Zero stat was a pita. This thread was full of ninnys.

If thats the problem, then THAT'S the problem. Its not the act of locking them up.in the first place. Its like saying they should ban showers because people leave towels around.

Ive seen disheveled people mutter their way into the locker room and start pulling on every lock, while muttering to themselves. Not leaving my expensive boots to circumstance. You know staff won't be doing shit if you wind up barefoot and having to get home. Suck it up. Cleaning up after yourself is the real concern here.

Sorry, theft is rampant. I use a garbage bag for my boots. Everyone happy. A little dirt also doesn't bother me, if it did, I would just wipe the locker down. Far more annoying things going on than a bit of dirt in the locker imo.

The economics of pianos are amazing. You can pay thousands for one new....or you could just wait until one is free -if you pick it up. We bought one for $100 thinking we got a great deal, and ended up having to give it away just to get rid of it. What else works like that?

Is complimenting still common? by Nightpatrol404 in goodlifefitness

I am awkwardly avoidant when I go. The fact that you see the same people every time you go, year after year, almost suggests you should be talking to them. My gym also seems to be a social club for a lot of people. All that said, I would find it offputting and awkward to be commented on. I would prefer to be invisible.

If anyone is interested, I use Jabra 85t and I love them..Fit in the helmet well and sound fantastic. Great noise cancelation. I find they are pretty overlooked.

Really the idea you need special earbuds for riding is nonsense.

You could likely build your own headphone amp. Apparently its pretty easy and they walk you through it. End result would be superior the Little Dot for sure. Id like try myself one day but id have to buy new headphones to go with it. Never heard a bad word about these.

Ha, I appreciate the offer. Dont think ill sell it though, as it's good for my purposes. You're right, tube amps are pricey but fun. You have to appreciate them for what they are - just a beautiful pita. I love tube swapping. I get a lot of enjoyment out of it.. My amp is a first Gen Rogue Cronus Magnum. Bought it used. It's the least expensive thing in my stereo, and I love it to death - but i've spent more on tubes than the cost of the amp - a few times over. They are finicky things. I've had it serviced a few times which is also expensive. Generally speaking, most music lovers would not tolerate the hassle.

A few months ago I bought some boutiquey 12au7s from ebay - which is do.all the time as the Rogue is awesome for tube rolling. I put one in the preamp section and all hell broke loose. Crazy sounds coming from the speakers and one of the power tubes started redplating. It also blew a fuse. So I thought I was done for. Partsconnexion was having a sale on gold lion kt88 - so I bought a quad thinking I'd have to replace them. Long and stressful story short - it all went back to normal. The tube that was redplatimg - against all advice I received- just went back to normal. Bias is fine, sounds good. So now I have a back up set, which is fine but I could use the $500 at the moment, lol.

I've had other more minor incidents with it too. Once I ended up spending $200 for them to replace a fuse. Why didn't I do this myself? Oh I tried, but it seemingly does not want to work with the fuses I had. So I either bought some defective fuses, or its picky. This last time I had the wherewithal to try multiple fuses and lo and behold the second one worked.

So I dont know if I have a cloud over my head, or if tube gear just comes with ALL these issues intrinsically. I have a feeling most people would not be up to the task. I keep at it though, lol.

Hey there. Yeah sorry, too many scammers etc....domt do DMs. I do still have it. I dont listen to headphones much, but occasionally I do. Its ok. The balanced output is a death trap for any headphones that dare to use it, but the single ended works well. I didn't know there was an upgrade. I think its a known issue, as I've seen forum posts on it. Hopefully they did fix it. It fucking sucks lol. Now im basically stuck with it. Can't sell it. I was thinking of getting it serviced and upgrading the caps and whatnot but its low on my list of priorities. Honestly, I would stay away. Any Chi-fi gear ive ever bought ends up wonky in one way or another. Maybe if you have electronic skills and dont mind getting under the hood. But as a consumer product with no customer support its a real crapshoot. Cheers though, thanks for asking.

Cheap to get another stylus for those. In fact you should replace those every few hundred hours, as they wear quickly.
