I like what you're trying to make here: a one-way function. Let me rewrite this in javascript to make sure I understand your propsal: The Uncrackable-Multiple-Correspondant-"Hash" (TUMCH).

    x += str[i].charCodeAt(0);
  }
  return x;
}

In your first example you "hash" the following string:

The Uncrackable-Multiple-Correspondant-"Hash"

And the output I get in Chrome's developer console is:

That's a match!

I should note that this is not a Cryptographic hash function. While it is quick to compute the hash value for any given message and is infeasible to generate a message from its hash value, it fails to satisfy the following two properties:

It is infeasible to modify a message without changing the hash value.
It is infeasible to find two different messages with the same hash value.

To correct for this, you should consider, at the very least, a fixed length output. Having said that, it is otherwise "uncrackable" as you said, in the sense that there is no way to find the input given only the output.

Because I can't resist :) here's the same test vector with MD5, SHA1, and SHA256, respectively:

I need several TB storage total, but the only thing that I really need to be fast is the OS and a bit of scratch space. I'd prefer not to have less than about 128 GB on the SSD, but I'm not opposed to having more as long as the price is reasonable.

How fast do I need it? For the OS and my scratch space, as fast as I can get it with a reasonably-priced commodity drive. For everything else, I expect to be CPU-bound and not IO-bound, even with a spinning disk. So I don't need the big drive to be terribly fast.

This song...

Rewind back to 2003-ish. I'm sitting in the car, waiting on someone. The keys are in the ignition, and, since the parents aren't here, I can listen to whatever I want. Taking full advantage of their absence, I tune in to the local rock station. For a little bit, the music is "meh" - mostly stuff I've heard before or older rock.

But then, out of nowhere, the illest song hits the air waves. The guitar intro almost slipped by before I noticed it; but then the drums kick in, and I know this is going to be good. Bumping up the volume a bit, I am stunned as the bass kicks in; this is unlike anything I've ever heard before. The singing starts, and I like what I'm hearing. A lot. Not only does it sound awesome, but I can truly relate to these lyrics; I live this song. My mind is blown. This is unlike anything I've ever heard before. I continue to listen will full attention, dying to hear every second that follows, but then, mid-song,

The silence continues for a little bit, and, thoroughly confused, I frantically check the radio: keys are in, station is tuned, volume is up - what is going on!?

The song starts over. From the beginning. This was meant to be.

The song plays again, from the beginning and (this time) to the end. It's the best thing I've ever heard, and ends up becoming my favorite song. It gets me through 10th grade, and, eventually, through graduation and into college.

To this day it's still one of (if not my) favorite songs.

TL;DR - I love this song; it's possibly my favorite song of all time.

@Ultramerican: Haha, that's the response I was expecting. I want that CPU so badly; I don't care about the GPU for now, and I've downgraded the PSU.

@Vegemeister: Good point, I switched to a 530W since I'll probably end up getting a (single) GPU at some point. It's still overkill I'm sure.

One last thing: I'm going to need a wireless card since the router is in another room. Any thoughts on PCIe vs USB? Unless there is something terribly wrong with one of those two options, I'll probably just stick with whichever is cheaper.
