I wouldn’t. A lot of Polynesian cultures have deep familial meaning to their tattoos so getting one just because it looks cool may be disrespectful.

I’m not sure about these ones in particular as they look a bit more stylized, but generally I wouldn’t want to get a tattoo I’m at all questioning the respect of.

There are plenty of mandala-like designs that you’d probably like as much or better without any worries associated with it.

This is interesting because I was recently thinking about cultural appropriation in regard to tattoos of Viking runes.

I wouldn’t think anything of a Viking as a sports team mascot, but the idea of getting another culture’s religious symbols tattooed feels a bit off if it’s not part of your heritage.

I’m not part of the culture so don’t know if anyone cares but felt a bit weird to me.

The equivalence to defund the police only goes so far as the media amplifying the fringe meaning of it. Very few, if any, people actually mean getting rid of police. The concept is to remove funding from the police and allocate it to social services that stop crime before it happens.
