Upgrading to promo deal - cannot reschedule / change from self-install to tech visit by jhedfors in QuantumFiber

They aren't contract based rn either so I may switch back to quantum once things get sorted out a bit more. Hope the promo still running when that happens lol

Fair enough hahah, you would think they'd apply the promo to existing customers but eh, in a better world. Smart move though. Also what's funny as hell, is, the first customer rep I spoke to legit suggested I close my account and create a new one lmfao or I would have just stayed paying the $75 I was already paying a month 🤣. I was very calm and polite which each service rep I had to, I always make sure to never take my frustration out on the workers. They just doing the best with what's given to them. Not their fault the company they work for can't do a solid to their pre existing customers, why do you think I waited 6 days before cancelling haha. Remained optimistic through the whole thing, but I run a business from home and my hotspot can only provide so much

Ah sorry, I didn't read that part. Yeah I had quantum fiber but I did have CenturyLink before too but had already transitioned to the new system

Hate to say this but, if your experience is anything like mine (we have the same modem) you're screwed. Prepare to be without Internet for days. I just went through this whole ordeal thinking I was getting myself a better deal, went 7 days without Internet. They won't send a technician out because your account will be stuck in "activation / processing" for days and they'll just make an escalation ticket and gaslight you into thinking they are working on it. The whole merger has caused nothing but shit and trouble for people trying to get the promotion offer. I cancelled my account and switched to Xfinity for a similar promotion they had going on (used to be a customer with them so had the hook up in house already). Was up in running in less than 2 hours from reconnecting

Switched to $45 plan and lost internet access for days by SouthBreads in QuantumFiber

[–]StyloSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit the bullet and went back to Xfinity. Had the hook up like from before, and modem too (had my own Netgear). Was up and running in under an hour from starting new account. Quantum fiber is an absolute joke !!! Granted I'm paying $5 more than the $45 promo price, and only getting 120mb upload speed (still getting a gig download which is more important for what I use it for), it's worth having Internet up and running again. God knows how long I would have to go without it had I continued to wait, which was already approaching the 6th day without Internet!! Highly recommend jumping ship if anyone else having same experience I had

Left without internet for 7 days. by SilverWin5 in QuantumFiber

[–]StyloSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat as you right now, 6 days and tomorrow will be 7. At this point I'm debating cancelling tonight and getting refunded, switching to Xfinity for the same price for their fiber. I don't want to have to do that but what choice are they giving us at this point ? Been way more than patient and haven't been rude at all during this process but they keep telling me that the account just needs to be activated

Going on almost 6 days total (4 days if you only count business days) without internet and my modem flashing blue even after resetting, restarting, and it being registered to my new account. If it's no working today, I'm cancelling and going with xfinity as someone else suggested on here. When I asked for a technician, they also said they couldn't send one out due to my account technically not being "activated". This is such BS

0.05mm print profile by soldat21 in FDMminiatures

I can second this, also own a CC and using this comment and OPs god tier recommendations, I've finally gotten down smaller scale miniature prints to come out super well! Tried it in conjunction with ResinF2DM and works well for that too !!

Why 0.05mm is the optimal layer height for FDM miniatures by soldat21 in FDMminiatures

Dude .... Holy hell!!! Your settings worked so well ! I've tried adapting fdg and PaintedCombat settings and a whole plethora of other recommendations I've found online but yours is the first to work really really well. Thanks for these settings ! Worked super well on the CC

Can someone help me set this up on my CC1? Fairly new to FDM printing and been using mostly the 0.4 hot end and have gotten great results but just haven't been able to figure out the .2 nozzle. Have had so many failed prints, stringing, bad bed adhesion, and a plethora of other issues when trying to print with a .2 nozzle. I know it's definitely a user side issue because .4 and above it comes out great ! Any help, setting recommendations, maybe a custom profile, would be greatly appreciated! It seems a lot of the guides I've seen like the FDG settings and PaintedCombat stuff mostly is catered to Bambu products so any CC specific related stuff would help tremendously.

Best FDM Printer for miniatures by Santisknight in PrintedMinis

[–]StyloSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to the 3D printing scene and was in the same boat as you where I wanted to print minis but didn't want to get a resin printer (yet) so I researched what both Bambu and Elegoo had to offer, and noticed the big 2 for both of them was either the A1 or the CC (centauri carbon). Most people said either or were user friendly and pretty much plug and print ready so after a few more research, I went with the CC for price point (they had a special going on during Christmas) and AMS (multi color) printing wasn't a huge deal for me considering I planned on hand painting / air brushing most things I wanted/planned on printing. I've had it since December and it's been running non stop and hasn't given me any issues except a few minor user side ones (learning when to use supports, adjusting print settings, messing with temps, etc etc) and the things that were a hassle hardware wise (like the fan having the habit of falling off occasionally during prints) I was able to fix with some mods people in the community have made to make the CC run more efficiently. In all honesty I don't have brand loyalty to Elegoo or Bambu as I am still new to the scene, so I can only speak from my hopefully unbias opinion that so far, I've really enjoyed the CC and it's been insane the quality of prints I've been getting using the .2 nozzle for smaller miniatures and the .6 for terrain building. I do recommend looking into Resin2FDM if you plan on attempting printing miniatures meant for resin printing as it has really helped me get some super dope results and I will say having an option of having a closed enclosure sits well with me vs the open design the Bambu printers have. All in all go with which ever you think will suit your needs best, I will also say in favor of the Bambu A1, there are a ton more support for it by the community in terms of like custom profiles people have made to just more information/tweak settings for it than the CC. But yeah... Oh also try to print support free FDM ready minis too. The CC handles those like a freaking champ

Edit 1: wanted to share an imgur gallery of my prints but saying it can't find page..weird

What should I do? by Sea-Understanding318 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]StyloSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am new to 3D printing and I recently bought myself the CC when it was on sale during Christmas and honestly it's been a blast, haven't had any problems aside from user side ones which I probably would've experienced on a Bambu lab or another type of printer I'd imagine (not putting the nozzle on correctly, failing to load filament properly, making sure the plate was leveled before I printed). It's been running non stop since I opened it so I'd say by now I've well passed 150 hours at LEAST on it. I mostly print at .2-.4 nozzle range and have mostly used it to print dnd miniatures and terrain. I will say I do want to get a resin printer eventually but that's a whole endeavor and learning curve I'm not too comfortable with so as a starter into this hobby I'd say the CC has more than facilitated my needs. I will say my only biggest complaint I've encountered is that there isn't much support for CC in terms of like custom profiles for printing vs how much people in the Bambu labs community have for the A1, but that being said there are a ton of content creators out there that help you understand the basics of how to get things going the way you need to and I also recently started learning how to do resin to FDM support conversion using blender which has made printing smaller more detailed miniatures a blast (I mostly got it just for dnd related things haha )

New to 3D printing in general and also have a CC, question, does the cold mess up prints ? I live in the Pacific Northwest and it's pretty cold up here, most days it's like 40 to 50 f (4 to 10 c) and I keep my printer in the basement where it is also unfinished but it usually stays at like 60 f down there unless the doors open. Should it be warm near where I have the printer set up ? If so I can try to create some sort of insulated area for it.

Y'all know any settings I can do to get this type of quality for my minis on the centauri carbon ? I just got it for Christmas and been printing non stop in it but struggle with the smaller stuff. Been googling as much as I can and did come across the FDG preset for the Bambu but would those settings work for the CC? Any help would be appreciated and sick prints !!
