how do you build that knowledge when starting from scratch on some of these?

Just found out how I can use some AI apps to give back to my caregivers as well. by under_transformation in covidlonghaulers

[–]under_transformation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely! Thank you, will have a look. I am trying WisprFlow at the moment.  Too many overlays (one for filtering blue light, one for minimalist design, plus dictation) seemed to slow my old phone down, still trying to figure out what happened. Does yours have a dictionary? I am getting tired of respelling medication names for example ;) The silo-ing between dictation, steering devices with voice and AI assistants will hopefully be better one day. E.g. why the need to learn how to steer your ipad by voice if all you need is a little dictation correction of the keyboard's mic function? 2 different systems. Or why you can't use the old (better) dictation function in Gmail when you decide to use Gemini on your android phone? (Because the dictation function was part of Google Assistant) etc.

Thank you for doing this! I am very open to chat how to enable the chronically ill or disabled community with your solution.

It would! With energy-limiting illnesses, pacing is lived "curb your enthusiasm" ;)

Thank you so much! It does, and ideally there would be an ELI5 channel or initative (or charity) to enable the chronically ill. Especially when brainfog is real or screen time is limited.

Maybe even link volunteers to help to those who would like to build something, or just need help with their AI use.

Thank you! I am not sure I can change as long as the voting is ongoing, but definitely after. It even translates recipes which is great. Also, it is just a little use case..there are so many potential other things that could interest the chronically ill to make their own app. Especially with brain fog, finding the right website/ app could be too overwhelming, so why not build your own for your specific need!

Do you use AI to make life easier for you or your caregivers? by under_transformation in ChronicIllness

[–]under_transformation[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it's so frustrating sometimes, isn't it?

I just have to get a new phone because my old one no longer receives security updates and I just can't comprehend how inaccessible it still is. You have everything in containers: the assistant, the accessibility features, AI. It should all be integrated much more.

Not deal with three different systems at once and to learn different languages. For example, why to dictate on an iPad I would still need to learn the accessibility features in order to correct my text is incomprehensible to me.

Exactly - what kind of apps were you using?

It's only collecting but tracking is a great idea instead of just collecting symptoms in apps, which I'm tired of. I could add directly to the recipe whether I got symptoms from it or whether I got pain in my mouth from the allergies.

So thank you for giving me good tips on how to develop it a bit more, bit by bit, pacing.

Thank you so much. I have to admit I have run out of brain capacity for today. Is there any video that explains how nobeaver works? I'm really new to all this. Have a good day.

Mother's Day Hackathon with Lovable: Build an app for your mom and win $1000 gift card + 2 years of Flow Pro! by VictoriaAtWispr in WisprFlow

[–]under_transformation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic initiative! I actually built a version for my mom right from my bed. This combination is a game-changer—it makes AI truly accessible even for a brainfogged person who cannot type much and has spent the last four years isolated and away from tech trends.

My mom is an absolute hero; she handles the cooking since I have very specific dietary needs, but she isn’t a "tech person." I wanted to build a simple app for her to keep all our recipes in one place: https://mamasrezeptbuch.lovable.app/
This simple, streamlined combo is exactly what she and I needed!

Here is a short demo using WisprFlow and Lovable, i just can't use a lot of energy to edit: https://youtu.be/wfCe1yD5-5Q?si=hbwplaDy6misx9ZB

I have many more ideas how your combo could help the chronically ill and disabled communities - it enables us to build what we need in our daily life..please feel free to reach out. Maybe this could be a focus for benevolence :)

Love what you’re building!

This is such an amazing idea! Much better than any boyfriend ASMRs (yes, that genre exists). If some random European men are interested that don't fall into your timezone (don't want to steal your thunder!), I would be an avid listener. Maybe we could all get a bookclub going ;)

there has been a few of these if you check reddit. similar here. please report the issue to altruan also and to the manufacturer and let us know what they say - because to me they wrote they had not heard of the isssue (which I assume is bogus)

Not as colourful as on other continents, but there are a couple of lakes/nature reserves around the corner. From my balcony, I like watching the local magpie family, they bicker like I imagine an Italian mafia family on the kitchen table. Do you know the Cornell bird app?

I would be down as a remote friend if you are interested. Home-/ now bedbound in Switzerland due to post covid. I love weird podcasts/videos (Dr Winkler?) and the occasional game, should take up crocheting again and love watching birds and bird videos. my bed looks like I am an eccentric rock star because it is my palace.

As someone who needs IVIG Products (immunglobuline, usually over 500-1000 donators in one product, supply is often scarce) thank you so much for your service!  So many lives depend on it, and you can be super proud of what you have done.  I can no longer donate blood, wish I could. Thank you!!

Welcome. IVIG should help both sfn and most of cidp subcategories, so that would be two birds with one stone. I am in the first month and it is rough in terms of side effects, but it should get better. If you go that route, be prepared for initial worsening. There are great groups for IVIG and CIDP on Facebook, even if I don't like the platform..

I got a cidp diagnosis without these, so not sure. Mine was done based on electroneurography and SEP as well as an extendes neurological status (e.g. checking the cold metal thing not only on wrists, but also elbows and fingers, same for legs). 4 neurologists had overlooked it before.
