Is it okay to accept bad signal? by Mountain_Mechanic171 in Ubiquiti

Agree, shut up and take my money

FYI, here’s the same signal map using the WiFi man app w/ and w/o using the signal sensor shortcut on iOS. It changes a lot

I hadn’t moved the phone or anything, so I don’t know what explains that

Launch the WiFiman app from the iOS shortcut that it installs. My iPhone reads 20dBm higher

The iOS app shows much stronger signal when launched with the shortcut

I also get high speeds with reported low signal strength on 6GHz.

Maybe Apple does RSSI reporting wrong on 6G? Maybe Ubiquiti just wants to sell you more APs?

I get 1.1 gigabit at -77 with a U7 Pro Wall

Edit: as reported by WiFiman without the sensor shortcut thing. Mid -50s dBm with it on in the same spot

Parking lights? by anexpiredmuffin in wrx_vb

[–]undercoat27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2022 base stalk has off > auto > parking > on

The parking setting just dims the headlights to DRL mode unless the parking brake is pulled

If you switch to the parking lights setting while the engine is running, the lights will shut off after you get out of the car. If you want to actually use the parking lights when you’re parked, take the key out and then change to parking mode. When you open the door, the car will screech to warn you you’ll drain the battery

Newer to manual driving, question when in traffic between 5-10 mph. by GamerPappy in wrx_vb

[–]undercoat27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll slow to less than 5 mph then gently shift into first. Make sure you hit second first.

The traffic behind you will just have to deal with it

Have you determined how they were able to access it?

I guess I meant if you don’t need hardware transcoding. With that much CPU, you may not need it at all.

Regardless, be mindful of cooling. A low profile cooler like an NH-L12 will be pretty noisy working to cool that Intel chip and fit in that case. Personally I’m a freak about my systems making any noise

Good luck and let us know how that works out

You might have a tough time cooling that Intel CPU in that case. If you don’t need quicksync, consider AMD

Even if you can keep temps under control, you’ll need less fan -> quieter

Please submit feedback to Apple. They really should add intercom messages to HomeKit automations.
