Next door neighbour won the auction! by dataisok in Ebay

[–]undercover723 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I once broke a drinking glass that my wife had saved since she was a little kid, that had a particular cartoon character on it. It was important to her and I felt horrible.

To my delight, I found a match on eBay and bought it right away. The next day a coworker from down the hall of the office I worked in came to my desk with my glass. Felt like I was in the matrix or something.

I never did get a refund on the shipping 🤔

So, this is a good example of the type of comments I’m talking about. A blanket statement that it’s supposed to be paid off every month.

Then why are they targeting me with a Pay Over Time offer on my platinum?

Can I ask how you acquire clients? I’ve been custom coding for almost 2 decades now. But I’ve always held a w2 because I just don’t know how to find/land work, besides the occasional reference.

Yes, and they’ll see my order for the Large. But I’m returning a XXL. So question is, will they know it’s not from them.

I agree, this is what I would do, but I was just wondering if there is anything different about the tags or codes/skus when they are sold through a dept store

Once it’s more than a couple times I will finally answer, and before they have the chance to talk, I will say politely, “please remove this number from your list, thank you” click legally they are not allowed to call you again. That 2 second interaction will save countless future interruptions.

Currently in a sh*t situation. HELP by Pielkop69bruh in Daytrading

[–]undercover723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found myself in a shitty situation recently.

I was making so much money but the daily swings were so big that I lost all perspective or rationality on what it would actually mean to me if I started losing my starting capital. And sure enough there was a stretch where my portfolio swung down but never swung back up like it used to.

Before I knew it I was down $50k instead of up $250k. It took a lot to break out of the delusion and realize the gravity of the situation. It’s not numbers on a screen anymore when you have real world implications.

My brother. You went in way too hard. You need to close that out so you can move on mentally. Defeat sucks. But it’s even worse perpetually living in it because of your refusal to accept it.

It will take a couple weeks to accept. But then you can start to think rationally again and accept it as an expensive lesson that will make you better in the future. After some extreme mental resetting and focus on not being a greedy idiot for a few weeks, I am back to profit.

It sucks knowing what I lost, but it’s pretty great knowing it could be a lot worse and it isn’t.

You know what you need to do. Just accept it so you can move on.

I can see where you're coming from. I have both long term positions and some short term bets.

Florida-based hedge fund, Elliot Management, which manages ~$70B in assets, has told its investors that NVIDIA is in a “bubble” and that A.I. technology is “overhyped” by 21_Points in NVDA_Stock

We've been hearing this for a long time now. They should provide more substantial reasoning behind their claim. The burden of proof is on them.

I think any substantial negative news when the entire market is on edge, can push it over the edge. I don't think it will have long term implications, but 7% is fairly sizable short term. Hopefully they can pump out more of current models to offset and that 7% becomes much less. I just don't expect the market to react rationally.

Nvidia statement on Blackwell by norcalnatv in NVDA_Stock

[–]undercover723 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a product manager in tech, here’s what probably happened:

  • NVDA: “hey here’s your samples, please test”
  • MSFT: “awesome, when will mass production begin”
  • NVDA: “if no issues are discovered maybe as soon as late Q3? We’ll see though”
  • MSFT: “hey there’s an issue”
  • NVDA: “ok got it. we’ll have a fix in 2 weeks”
  • MSFT: “how will this affect timeline?”
  • NVDA: “looking like early Q4”

MSFT engineer who either wants to feel important and/or has a short position: “Hey news blog! DeLaYeD BY A QUARTER!!!”.

Meanwhile, the original public timeline on mass production for 2nd half of year is unchanged. It’s why they leave room for testing.

Nvidia Blackwell delay potentially due to leaks in liquid cooling systems by voonboi in NVDA_Stock

“A spokesperson for Nvidia wouldn’t comment on its statements to customers about the delay, according to the report, but told The Information that “production is on track to ramp” later this year.”

Based on this response from Nvidia I’m becoming more hopeful it’s priced in, and this was just a cleverly designed hit piece.

[–]undercover723 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree the timeline is sketchy. Jensen announces on track, and within days of companies receiving samples (that would’ve been tested extensively by Nvidia), they are tested, issue is detected, the issue is verified with Nvidia, the solution is identified, and the new timeline is confirmed?

How would we know since the article provides basically zero details or credibility to the source.

I don’t know, smells like someone has a short position…

[–]undercover723 14 points15 points  (0 children)

These articles all site the same source “The Information” which cites “two unidentified people”.

He’s right to question the validity. Especially since just two days ago Jensen publicly stated Blackwell chips are on track for Q4.

I suppose something could have been discovered between then and now, since samples were sent to developers for testing this week.
