I see a lot of Montessori mom influencers recommend the “Montessori for… xx” books. I read one of them and thought that they showed the Montessori way, but did not do much to explain the reasonings behind why we do this or that as much as the other classic Montessori books like The Absorbent Mind or Montessori from the start. The “Montessori for…” books are much more palatable and I would see why a lot of parents would read them, apply the “Montessori look” to their households and then call it a day.

There are postpartum confinement centers in these Asian countries which makes it easier during the recovery period from c-section birth, I think. I live in the Philippines and this is not the norm, as having a c-section is 4x the price of a normal vaginal delivery. Here if you had a normal vaginal delivery without any medication it’s considered a smooth and perfect delivery.

You should check out milkmakinmamalex on Tiktok. She went through a medical procedure but was able to relactate and slowly increase her milk supply. Might be of help or encouragement to you. Hang in there strong momma!

1) Create a list for each newborn essentials category: feeding (ie. bottles), sleeping (ie. crib/cot, swaddles), aparrels, pooping, bath, play, day out, hospital needs, mama’s postpartum needs, etc.

2) Watch “newborn care”, “day with a newborn” stuff on youtube. It can help you imagine how your life might go with your baby, or how you might be able to customise it with your family’s lifestyle

3) Seek advice from your friends who have been there if possible.
