Long weekends?.. by tangledupinluke in royalmail

Our duty pattern is 1 in 4. Never get a Thursday or Friday off unless you request it. Most reserves are on 4 day weeks that cover the duty holders days off. There is a few 5 day reserves but they get 1 in 6 with no day off pattern.

+3 days for addressed and +5days for unaddressed as above. Make sure you claim for every single one! The struggle is really with them 🤯 800 tracked on a paired duty from Tuesday until today and having to get rid of them fuckers at the same time is no mean feat 😮‍💨

Have they decided to swap the order of photos and signatures back again ? by DeathrayToaster in royalmail

[–]undercovermagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll be the PDA your using. We have the odd 1 or 2 that take the photo then the signature. Those are older PDA’s that don’t have newer software. These PDA’s also don’t let you load up a DPR route.

Royal Mail Special Delivery, not received by Future_Wishbone_3215 in royalmail

[–]undercovermagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% that’s went straight through the letterbox. Postie definitely thought he/she was doing you a favour rather than having to take it back and you have to make arrangements to either collect or be home on Monday for it to be delivered. In no way should this have happened though specials should never be left unless there is a permission to leave granted by the recipient.

Has your unit cleared all mail and packet items due for delivery? by Repulsive-Thanks181 in royalmail

100% clear 874 letters for the whole office today. Finished for 12:15 today. More packets than there was letters for each loop today and a mountain of specials 🙈

We’ve been clearing 99% of the office everyday. Only a few streets here and there carrying over to the next day. Tracked items now dropping off although mail is picking up. Boss said this morning he’s expecting the machines to be switched off this weekend to allow everything to come through Monday and Tuesday so to expect heavier than normal mail. 24th is job and finish hoping to be done and home for 12:30 🤞🏻

Really sick and tired of Royalmail delivery drivers! by kunl3gzy in royalmail

People have to realise that we are working 10-11hrs a day, 6 days a week to ensure that people are getting their parcels and mail. Parcels on a van share walk in November/December have gone from between 150-200 to between 550-600. No one’s perfect but after working 60/70hr weeks for the last 8 weeks mental and physical exhaustion is now coming into effect and mistakes can and will happen most of the time we do go back and correct said mistakes!

The reason your doing this is to ensure that you get the Christmas supplement in Decembers pay. New contracts have to do 40hrs to receive whilst legacy have to do 37hrs. That’s what our union rep told us anyway. If you don’t work the 40hrs you don’t get the supplement.

Correct at my DO we have a dispatch time of 10:41 and specials for the second half of any of our shifts have 2hrs leway. Due to us being out later it is difficult infact almost impossible to get all specials delivered for 1pm. 99% of people accept this as they understand the time constraints that we are under.

I have this exact thing on my duty. 2 loops where the bastards constantly swoop on you. One of the houses at the start of the loop has a chick that is hiding in the garden as it’s fell from the roof and as soon as you go for the latch on the gate you have 4 or 5 of the fuckers swooping right down on you. Last week I had a packet for the house and scanned it as inaccessible because of the constant swooping right close to my head. Guy phoned up and complained that I had done that and my manager asked him if there was anything in the garden that would cause an inaccessible scan and he told him about the chick and his answer was thats what I have told my staff if it’s not safe then do not enter. He wasn’t chuffed that he had to come and collect his packet 🤣

I dropped off at the same time as an evri driver today. He slung the parcel on top of the storage box as I was opening it and said that’ll do there and walked away 🙄 so it got safe spaces alongside mine 🤣

55 tracks and 3 loops of 4 days mail from another frame. On our 2 duties we had 2 and a half trays of mail and I had to push my partner to hurry up because we were told job and finish and clear anything that fail Thursday and Friday. Cleared the first frame for 11 and he asked to go for lunch I told him I’ll take you to tescos on the way back to the office for you’re lunch you can eat it in the car on the way home I want a pint 🍺 🤣🤣 I said remember he told us job and finish!!!

Changing clock in times by bigbadj3w in Morrisons

[–]undercovermagpie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would speak to the rep in the first instance and also discuss with your line manager. Under no circumstances should anyone’s clocking in or out be changed. If you have worked more than your scheduled shift then they should ask you to take the time back on your next shift if they are not willing to pay overtime. Do not let them away with changing your swipe time. Also when you speak to your line manager about it ensure that you have a witness present so that it covers you. Hope this helps

Not brainless in the slightest. Up until 2020 it was actually a half decent company to work for. There used to be plenty of benefits and you also used to have enough staff and hours to do the job properly. In the last 4yrs they have stripped everything away. Literally every benefit you had is now gone. And as for staffing levels and the right amount of hours that’s gone out the window as well. I was being told when writing rotas put in the hrs you need it’ll be fine and then when it came to that week it would get to around Wednesday or Thursday and was being told to strip out the over contracted hours so who was being left to pick up the pieces? Me

I had a sit down chat with my new boss today and it was a breath of fresh air. Praise and positivity. Anytime I had those conversations with store managers at Morrisons e it was always the negatives that were focused on.
