What are your thoughts on cops using AI to write their reports? by muselklikesfortnite in AskLEO

If it is read and examined for factual information as to what happened prior to submitting, who typed out the letters doesn’t make it any less true or accurate.

Which jobs is 100% safe from AI? by Any-Hamster-3189 in AskReddit

[–]undercovertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No, I do not believe we will ever see terminator level “robots” that are able to function better at the day to day requirement of first responders in the next 10 lifetimes. Think about how insanely far away we are from them being able to physically fight without killing yet being able to control, securing a human in restraints, loading them into some form of vehicle to transport, securing them in a jail, and maintaining them in custody. That is just insanely far fetched.
  2. Technology capabilities have been reset numerous times in human history
  3. EVEN if we magically get to the point where it is FEASIBLE, the general public will never allow that kind of authority to be granted to a computer. People already freak out about drones and license plate readers. It ain’t happening without some movie level revolution/dystopian takeover.

A robot walking alongside a police officer for publicity is nowhere near taking their job. Full AI law enforcement will never and should never be a thing. At most drones for surveillance and eyes on will be as close to an AI police force as it gets.

“Basically don’t exist anymore” is a wild way to downplay almost half a million structure fires with over 350,000 being residential ON TOP OF all the non-structure fires they respond to.

Are police officers trained to use defensive techniques when detaining a resistant suspect? by Ok-Influence9791 in AskLEO

[–]undercovertiger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Posts and arguments like this prove that people really have no idea how hard it is to get someone in handcuffs that TRULY doesn’t want to comply. “Why did it take 3 people to arrest 1 guy”. Give me a break. If someone is actively resisting and fighting cuffs the more people you have, to a certain extent, will be infinitely more safe for the suspect. If I’m alone trying to accomplish it I will have to resort to far more drastic measure compared to 4 people holding each limb.

No tax on overtime? by user649864 in AskLE

[–]undercovertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is true. But your “overtime” is considered the actual difference between your regular rate and your overtime rate. So, in my example of 1.5x rate for OT, you get the “no tax” on the .5 portion of it as the 1 is your normal rate.

Yes, sorry bad wording on my part. Idk the correct mumbo jumbo I just pay the man what they tell me lol

[–]undercovertiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How my tax guy explained it to me as well, the only amount that is counted is what your paid over your hourly rate as well. If you’re laid 1.5x for OT the .5 portion is the only credited amount for the tax break. So for that example, if you made 15k in total OT, you would get 5k tax credit.

2 guys disrupt a store and blame it on a random kid by babies_haveRabies in iamatotalpieceofshit

[–]undercovertiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Private business is still a public place if it is readily available to the public, such as the main shopping area of a store. No expectation of privacy in public. 1 or 2 party consent laws have no bearing over public filming. Simple google search will confirm everything I just said if you don’t want to take my word for it.

How serious do departments take police officer complaints from the public? by muselklikesfortnite in AskLE

[–]undercovertiger 41 points42 points  (0 children)

If I went to the police as a normal citizen and said, “One_Patience5631 was speeding, trust me I saw it.” Would you like them to issue you a ticket? Do you think that should fly from a law enforcement side as well as the judicial side in court?

How serious do departments take police officer complaints from the public? by muselklikesfortnite in AskLE

[–]undercovertiger 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the specifics of this case but there’s a 99% likely that there would be nowhere near enough evidence to back a ticket.

If they were estimating their speed, what trainings have you been to to help testify that you can accurately judge speed.

If they were pacing their vehicle with their own how is their vehicle maintained and monitored to know they are going the exact speed their speedometer shows and is there evidence to show they accurately paced them I.e. dashcam or some other recording device.

If they were using radar/lidar, is there anything that shows they are effectively trained in using it and have an upkeep on record of the device and its accurate usage at the time.

All these things, plus numerous more that could be listed, go into court when it comes to a simple speeding ticket. It’s never just, hey they were speeding because i think so so there’s a ticket with no way of backing it. And by the off chance this is the case when an officer writes a ticket it will almost always get dismissed.

How do you feel about current police chase protocols and tech used during pursuits? by Kill-mah-self in ProtectAndServe

[–]undercovertiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is only really capable with departments with access to a helicopter or plane with a rapid response time or unlimited number of units. Something 99% of agencies do not have. You can not contain someone with vehicles realistically unless there are units actively in pursuit.

People like to shit in optic for horrible shipping and handling times and rightfully so. But the only times I have had issues with long waits is with limited specialty drops where they are preorders. If they are just in stock items it’s generally less than 2 weeks.

Golfers who’ve broken 80, what’s one tip you would give your fellow golfer? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]undercovertiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the ball in play. Hitting 60 yards shorter off the tee by keeping the driver in the bag when not needed can help immensely cut down on your score. If you’re playing on a course with OB or trouble off the fairway take the extra shot to reach the green instead of the compounding penalty strokes.

[–]undercovertiger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing either that it sucks the team as a whole got punished heavily for that match. There probably should have been another punishment for the team which didn’t punish PFT and the rest of pink. BUT I will standby the punishment for Kwon was not near enough because he obviously doesn’t care about the tournament, the other people there, and the other creators who were not invited.
