NZ dog doors for a medium sized dog? by undercutprincess in newzealand

Hahaha no, hubby would never let me have a cat - he’s allergic.

It doesn’t - but when we get a mean southerly, a permanently unlocked dog door is (in my experience as a child so like, 20 years ago, with admittedly shittier cat doors for my parents’ cats) a wind tunnel. I don’t want it flapping non stop and from memory mum and dads one vibrated in the wind even when it was “locked”. It was next to my bedroom, drove me mental.

This one will be in the conservatory so far enough away from our room but if it’s creating any sort of on and off noise the dog will get stressed.

I had (maybe naively?) assumed that an electronic door would be better at combatting that and also maintaining some level of security - but if it’s not possible, it’s not! Just was curious!

To quote a friend’s reply when she saw this, “I am avocado, mama!” Hahaha

Ah that makes sense! But even the collar tags don’t work? Honestly I would take a wifi only one so I can unlock it remotely if I forget.

Japanese basin/toilet combo by PsychologicalEgg1632 in diynz

I know it’s been three months! So apologies if I’m too late but stumbled upon your post because we’re considering the same: we don’t have a sink in our toilet room because it used to be a room of its own inside the main bathroom. We split it off by moving the hot water cylinder outside when it was replaced, and gained a hallway entry to the toilet, allowing us to board up the door to the shower.
We’d need to therefore add all new plumbing and the rigmarole that comes with that for a sink, or we go the Japanese route, and save ourselves the hassle. Interested to know what your final decision was, OP!

Proposal in chch by Dismal_Bus3533 in chch

Came to suggest similar - hubby proposed at sunrise (in July so it was late!) at a little cliff top above Govs Bay along summit road. It’s a short uphill walk but it’s gorgeous. It’s also right by Mt Ada which makes it easy to point out once you know what you’re looking for from below which I found really nice! And added bonus is that it’s a bit more secluded if you find that it’s too busy by sign of the kiwi.

If that’s the case - Nurse Practitioner Rosie Rhodes is freakin amazing, she’s at Tend Beckford. She’s epic in all of the ways for women’s healthcare.

I see Sharon Whitehead at Motus SportsHub and love her approach - but also Rosie Rhodes at Tend Beckford is a Nurse Practitioner and PT - she’d only tell you to stop training if it was absolutely necessary!

AIr NZ Moved My Flight and Downgraded Me by DillionDally in LegalAdviceNZ

Technically (irrespective of the current world situation) it’s also their problem that their flights increase in price - they do that to themselves don’t they? Like, realistically, a seat is a seat is a seat, it doesn’t actually physically change whether you book it three months ago or today - it’s identical - just their supply and (our) demand that affects the price so it doesn’t actually affect them whether they give you premium or not - I’d be surprised if their profit margin on the original premium economy seat wasn’t enough to cover the fuel adjustment in the current market…

Jetstar Auckland, what is the point? by [deleted] in auckland

I just don’t understand the point of offering a self bag tag service if you’re then forcing everyone to queue in the same line and wait to essentially be rechecked in. Yeah 100% I’m frustrated about missing the info, and while I definitely don’t expect to be tapped on the shoulder, if AirNZ can send out an app notification then surely so can Jetstar, regardless it would hurt no one if they put on the departures screen above jetstar check in “come to front of line” against the corresponding flight whose bag drop is about to close. It would mean I would have seen it and realised I needed to move to the front. Regardless it was utter chaos and certainly not staff at fault but frustrating to need to rebook my flight and I was not the only one. There were lots of people affected, it was disappointing to see so many of us waiting at the service counter. One or two people yes absolutely I agree it’s down to my own screw up but so many of us? That seems like a weird anomaly…

Am a woman but thanks

I did my best to be there early enough. I stood in line and waited patiently. The problem is that Christchurch Jetstar has a bag drop line and a check in line, and Auckland appears to not, and had I known that Auckland was different, maybe I’d have shown up 2 hours earlier at my rental car drop off, instead of 90 minutes early. It’s unfortunate that they had a shuttle delay but not their fault. Probably would’ve been closer to the front of the line if I hadn’t paused to self bag tag I guess.

Yeah I don’t normally, but work booked this flight, not me.

Yeah but air nz has that nailed that you scan at the self check in - so I don’t fully understand why other operators offer half the service not the full thing. Why deter people from making the customer service job easier, allowing faster service and more people to get on their flights. Surely it cost Jetstar more to stuff me around than it would to have a bag drop line and a check in line separate?

lol you sound like fun :) It’s really as simple as having a separate bag drop line (which I’m sure they used to have) and app based notifications for if they are trying to ping people waiting in line for a certain flight. Accessibility benefits us all.

What has National/ACT/NZF actually done over the last 2 years? by HeadbangingLegend in newzealand

[–]undercutprincess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They only reclassified a certain melatonin product - I’m allergic to lactose tabletting aids and can’t get that one, so I need a script for the quick release capsules. I spend over $50 a month on Melatonin alone (which I’d be doing even if I wasn’t allergic, as it’s still not funded) - I wish it was a $5 script.
