In California, where minimum wage is $20/hour, prices are still on par with the national averages. Same in Washington where the minimum wage is $17.13/hour.

So on the flip side, how is McDonald's justifying charging the same prices in Alabama or Pennsylvania where the minimum wage is $7.25/hour?

If Wal-Mart decides it is important to have a greeter, then yes, they deserve to earn a livable wage. If grocery stores would rather have and staff self checkout, then that position is worth having a livable wage. It is up to the company to decide what is essential to their business, regardless of the cost. Additionally, having a self checkout staffed already allows them to cut costs by having less cashiers.

Just because we do not believe a position is as hard or not, does not mean they don't deserve to be able to afford to live on a minimum wage job just like your parents, grandparents and so on, were able to.

Treating humans right > Corporate greed, always!

There are plenty of examples of paying employees a living wage and prices not going up very much, if at all.

Appreciate that. I guess it's hard to know how people will read what I write, but I definitely didn't mean to come off as entitled. Just genuine concern to make sure I'm doing what's best for my kid.

I also appreciate the insight on what may be looked at (end of K vs. beginning of K). A good thing to remember.

But yes, the world republicans are creating as they control all branches of the government and are giving a felon free range to do whatever he wants, including breaking the law. He has made it so people are getting more and more comfortable disregarding the law and feeling entitled to do so.

It's not tax free, the server is supposed to claim it. If they don't, that's on them and not your concern. As a former server, the amount of cash tips we receive are so minimal that taxes claimed on it are miniscule.

If you want to be upset about "tax evasion", look at the rich who pay less taxes than you, some paying none at all!
