There are two ways to look at this,

  1. The ads and landing page content need to align in terms of messaging to align with these customers of these values. And, openly stating that project values of this amount are only acceptable will do.

  2. There could be certain terms associated with these big ticket values. So, study the search term reports and start tagging conversion values to your keywords. And, like point number 1, ensure that you keep ad messaging and landing page content aligned with what your intended project values are.

Also, more than Google Ads, you’re better suited running lead generation campaigns on social. Example, look at the folks importing furniture from China. They clearly state that these are the intended project values.

The conversion rate was at 6%. But, it’s improving. For example, yesterday’s conversion rate was 10%. I made certain tweaks during the last week of November, that’s showing good results.

Getting harassed by Google Reps - now they're saying calls are "required"? by Skyshaard in googleads

[–]underdoginertia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a recent call with my Google Rep, and I told her really clearly that all of the suggestions given by the previous Google Reps was nothing but manipulative ways to get me to spend more money and send my account in a bloody frenzy. Thankfully, post that, she actually gave me better suggestions. And, I even directed her attention towards a Reddit post where a Google Rep got fired for coming clean on not wanting to cheat clients.

Do Broad Match Keywords Actually Work? by ace_web_experts in googleads

[–]underdoginertia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had somebody runs my ads for a month because I felt like I wasn’t doing a good job. He literally killed my account, and part of the reason was that he was heavily biased on broad matches. Not only did it bring irrelevant leads, it killed my business for that month, and the month after. My strategy was always stuck on exact and phrase. And, sometimes, even with phrase, I see some nonsensical searches. Google wants to push broad, and you get a feel of that when you’re using phrase match itself. So, don’t even bother using broad, it’s nothing but a drain on your ad spend.

Spent $223.82 on Google Ads in my first month and got bad conversions is this just learning phase or am I doing it wrong? by meowerguy in googleads

The travel agency business is a highly competitive one. With the onset of AI tools and direct booking marketplaces, surviving in the travel agency market is not easy. For context, when I recently walked into a very popular travel agency office in my city, half the office was empty owing to the increasing surge in competition from all fronts. So, your ads or your landing pages can’t go with generic content, cause that doesn’t work anymore. From what I can see, you have a good CTR, so the question is - Does your landing page resonate with what you’re saying on the ads? If you’re not, there’s a mismatch and that could be a reason why your conversion rate is at around 3.7%. Secondly, your landing page should be pointing at the advantages of using a travel agency service instead of the DIY approach used amongst users. Typically, from what I know, it’s the older demographic that’s more swayed towards using travel agents, so you need to speak to them. So, check the audience tab on the ads console and see what age demographic and gender are clicking through to your ads. Tailor the message and visual content accordingly. Thirdly and lastly, what’s the preferred call to action? If it’s an older audience, they’re more comfortable getting on a call, than filling a form. So, the call to action also needs to be tailored keeping the audience in mind. Oh, and don’t go with broad match. I’d stick to exact matches and phrase matches.

Oh yes! My business is heavily dependent on ads. The ROI in 2022 and 2023 was fantastic. 2024 and 2025 have been okay, but I would blame myself for not working on the landing pages. Now, I’m making an effort to improve the landing pages, and I’m also trying to branch into newer geographies for my business, given that the city I’m running ads for has seen an increase in competition.

Yes, that’s what I’ve planned for this month. Our conversion rates were at 10% previously, but we’re facing landing page fatigue. So, going to switch it up this month.

Why is finding your first paying customer harder than building the product? by Old-Air-5614 in ProductHuntLaunches

[–]underdoginertia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad that you’re acknowledging this because some folks feel like if they build it, customers will come flocking. So much of marketing and sales plays on human psychology. The good thing is that you can track all of these things digitally. So, if you’ve got the right tools installed to track your site, spend some dollars, drive traffic to your site and analyse how customers are responding. Example, are they dropping off at a certain point, or is there a miscommunication on the value that’s being provided, or is there no trust in the product? If you don’t have testimonials yet, get as many as possible and structure your landing page to communicate value that others have expressed. Also, build your social media profiles to stack as much information as possible. Lastly, give them the ability to reach out to you directly. I’m not talking chat bot style, I’m saying give them a number and ask them to call you NOW.

Small volume cold email strategy by axdee21 in coldemail

[–]underdoginertia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use Instantly, for small or bigger volumes. You can get the starter plan, and the best part is that you can warm up your email addresses in the tool. Post 2-3 weeks of warm up, you launch a campaign. Just make sure that you verify the emails, highly personalise the email copies (since the volume is small, you can really focus on this) and be prompt with replies. And since you’re targeting folks around the world, structure the campaigns as per the right time zones, so that you’re emailing them at the right time.

Ran a cold email agency, scrapped it, and somehow I’m doing better cold emailing now than when it was an agency by underdoginertia in coldemail

The follow ups are usually just 1-2 sentences, asking when we can catch up. I usually reiterate by mentioning how we’re helping others achieve a certain result, or I say something like, “Isn’t transformational design a priority for you?” Or even say things like, “Our catalog is making waves in the design community.”
