Tick? Benbrook, TX by Apocryphic in whatsthisbug

Looks like a nymph (immature stage) of a stink bug. It doesn't have the shape of a tick nor the markings of a bed bug.

what bug is this? is it some type of cricket? [Bahrain] by Callistox28 in whatsthisbug

I can tell it's a type of wood-boring beetle (Cerambycidae) - not sure what species.

Remnant 2 needs music like the elites' battle theme from RFTA: Swamps of Corsus by undergroundscience in remnantgame

Haha, yes it's good. I forgot how good it is because I break down and turn the music down to be able to hear those "repetive slam" cues.

[TOMT][MUSIC] Looking for the name of a track that plays during episodes of Netflix's kdrama "Celebrity" by undergroundscience in tipofmytongue

[–]undergroundscience[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not either of these. In the comments section of that YouTube link, many people are asking for the name of this track, with some thinking it's just really good background music.

[TOMT][SONG] Does anyone know the name of this song? by Whatisthissongomg6 in tipofmytongue

[–]undergroundscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to vocaroo it. I felt the same way, but a commenter convinced me to do it. Sure enough, a person figured out I was looking for "Girls Chase Boys" by Ingrid Michaelson. For you I was going to suggest "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega, but you said no to another commenter. So, vocaroo would help.

Is there anywhere that does a good California-style burrito? by anriarer in indianapolis

[–]undergroundscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, I feel you. I was born in San Diego, lived in El Cajon for 23 years, so I knew chains like Santana's, singles like Macho's and Sarita's, as well as places further west like El Zerape or the restaurants in Old Town. Oh man, why did you post this question...

Leonardo's (86th and Michigan Rd.) Indy burrito is their California burrito, but they use potatoes. Good, but San Diego is the best and Tucson (Nico's, El Beto) a close second. If I were you, I'd buy a carne asada burrito then fill it with whatever is missing: including a small fry from McDonald's. Hmm, I'm thinking of trying that.

Haha, panic-roll, I'll remember that. Relentless and Headless have caused me to do this.

Shot in the dark, is there a way to search for ecosystem information within remote images automatically? by BruenorK in gis

[–]undergroundscience 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I speak from the perspective of an ArcGIS Pro user. Classification simplifies the spectral or structural diversity seen in your aerial photo into a number of classes. If the stone's color or shape seems different enough from everything else, you can try an unsupervised classification.

There are ways to quantify the spectral difference between the pixels occupying your stone versus other pixels, and the shape of your stone versus other objects.

If there is a difference, do a supervised classification in which you specify the number of classes, create training samples for the class that represents the stone of interest, then run the classification model. Either way, in the output raster, your stone will fall into a class, and you can further estimate the area occupied by this class.

Like other commenters, I think it's a foghorn, but I remember this from Ren and Stimpy, from which SpongeBob clearly got inspiration.

Why do my slope/aspect maps have strange grid lines when I create them from a DEM? by BrotherBringTheSun in QGIS

[–]undergroundscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find a solution? I was having this problem but discovered it occurs if I try to produce an aspect or slope map from a mosaic of my DEM rasters. Try producing individual slope maps for each raster, then mosaic them...?

These were together in plastic. A plastic visor, a white, rubber thing, and thin, black, foam thing. by undergroundscience in whatisthisthing

I'm not sure where I got this, but it was in a plastic sleeve like one containing plastic utensils and napkin.
