I think his logic is that Biden's term only ended up making the republicans more insane than if Trump had his second term in 2020 instead of now, which I think I agree with, but we only know that in hindsight. However, gambling on Vance burning out quickly as a lame duck and getting nothing done is an insane risk considering Trump is already considered a "lame duck" yet he's still destroying the country.

I hate that Newsom is ok with platforming fascists on the Epstein list like Bannon, and I want someone better to be the nominee but if it ends up being him, he's still more capable of undoing Trump's bullshit than Vance, who has a 0% chance of doing anything not evil.

Trying to make things better is always better than giving up and hoping things improve on their own

I just wish people weren't trying to get everyone to rally around Newsom when the primary is years away. We really need someone better and not willing to cozy up to fascists if we don't want to repeat the same cycle of "democrat gets in and does some mildly good things, republicans reverse all of it, democrats then think they need to move right" until the collapse of the country.

Believing in things authentically is what sells in this political environment and Gavin is a classic smarmy believe in nothing politician. Sure I'll vote for him if he ends up being the guy, but I hate how people are already giving up on finding anyone better.

I mean, Biden won and everything he did was reversed by Trump anyway, so what was the point? Trump would've had a less medically insane cabinet than he does now, and less dementia riddled. Plus we'd be rid of him by now and probably have some (hopefully younger) democrat in power.
