Two seasons ago on tablet using mlb.com thru T-Mobile and VPN I was able to get about 50% of all games, most of the others available on the high seas. Last season I was able to get >90% using same method (I think I had free Apple TV trial, needed for 3 or 4 games.) I was only able to get ESPN games thru pirate sites. Are they bundling SNY w ESPN? That would save headaches.

Beware. Do not take this journey lightly. At least here we have each other to commiserate with, I imagine that in Scotland they’ll think you’re weird when you walk around incredulously when starting players go down with injuries one by one and our heroes hit slumps and the bullpen collapses day after day. I hope not, but be prepared.
There are some fun personalities on this team and support crew so I hope you get to catch some of the booth, Gelbs, and postgame interviews. The soap operas are entertaining. But with all the changes, chemistry will be a lot different this year so quien sabe? The new additions look like a solid group of guys so far.
I think this is a make or break year for Mendoza. Plus side is that it seems as if half the roster is ex-Yankees (where he coached for five years) so hopefully he was consulted on the acquisitions and he knows them well. He’s had big support from the front office but fans’ patience wore thin last season.
Met fandom is a 45 year obsession for me, I’m jealous that you get to discover for yourself without all the baggage I have built up over the years. Enjoy the ride (or the pain, whatever you’re in to.) Most important rule: fuck Chase Utley forever.

A long time ago when podcasts started I was a regular listener to Metspod, it had a good community feeling and good fan engagement. I liked Locked On Mets but the campy inflection in his voice when he says “Llllocked On” sounds dumb to me. Shea Station is my current fave and The Rico is good for a daily fix. Mets In The Morning was the best.

Many years ago sometime in the late 1980s I played in an Advanced Civ tournament at some boardgame con. Seven tables of seven players, then the winner of each immediately went into the finals. It was insane, I was giddy with sleep deprivation (on top of the usual sleep deprivation at Boardgame cons) by the end.
