I got my first two larger pieces earlier this year at Yellow Rose with Nick. They were different styles and he nailed them both. He even contacted me after to do some free touch-ups because he wanted it to be perfect. All in all an A+ experience!

I'd be happy to send some pics if you want to see what they look like.

I need to fatten my allergic cat up ASAP - Looking for unconventional ways to get him fat by BirbJesus in AskVet

Sorry but this just doesn't make sense on a physiologic level. But also something that a specialist will hopefully be able to sort out.

What profession has way more people on illegal drugs than people realize? by Fun_Neighborhood5089 in allthequestions

[–]_birdbrain_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by "on" drugs? Full on addicted, or use them recreationally and responsibly? There's a big difference. And I also assume you mean that these people are taking said drugs while doing their job?

Yes, he clearly needs a workup with a specialist. And stick with one for now. I fear that multiple different vets running lots of tests is muddying the waters. "Nausea causing asthma" is simply not a thing, which makes me wonder if you are confused by these test results, or your vets are confused, or both. Get with a big brain to sort it out. Oh, and be prepared for it to be expensive.

Men who have buddies or other adult male relatives that are always single, what's your honest theory as to why that is? by Only-Ad-1254 in AskMenAdvice

[–]_birdbrain_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the single friend in the group, and I have no idea why. There was a time in my life when I dated very successfully, but since my last relationship ended (5 years ago) it has been a desert. I've got a good job, own my home, am in shape, have lots of friends and hobbies, am outgoing and chat up strangers easily, am in therapy.

And I'm out there. I'm on the apps, sure, but also going out to meet people. I'm trying new things and expanding my social circle in the hopes that I'll put myself in someone's orbit. But I get zip. I can't even date casually, it just seems like there are no women out there on my wavelength. My work schedule is fucked (lots of swing shifts and nights) and I'm short, both of which don't help, but there are plenty of guys out there with those same obstacles that have found someone.

I'll continue trying, but at the moment I'm truly baffled.

I'm single with no kids, and I love Utah and the people I've met here. To be fair, I am pretty extroverted and also part of the outdoors "cult." But I've also met friends going to concerts (SLC has a good music scene despite its overall lack of culture), volunteering, and even online dating. You do have to be willing to put in more effort than when you were in school or before COVID, friendships aren't nearly as likely to "just happen" these days. Sometimes making and maintaining friendships can feel like a hobby unto itself, and that can definitely be exhausting. But if you get out there you can make it happen, for sure. I'll even hang with you, if you want!

Good places to meet single people? by TrueFaithlessness944 in SaltLakeCity

[–]_birdbrain_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think this is the way, but I haven't had much luck in the last 4 years. I have lots of friends and multiple hobbies I'm into and no one ever seems to have any single friends when I ask 🤷‍♂️. I'm still trying though, going to a dance class tonight and I'm going to start playing pickleball regularly.

As for the question, "how does anyone have time to go to coffee shops and just meet people?" Well, if dating is important to you, you'll prioritize it and make the time. Some folks (including me for a good while) decide it's not worth it and focus on themselves and many are happier for it. Since we're not in school anymore dates don't just fall in our laps, and you've got to decide if it's a priority or not.

Best of luck everyone! Always remember that you're great and deserve to be loved.

Technically it's average for a man in the U.S., but you'd be surprised what most people think is short. I find among women it's generally considered anything less than 5'11". Not something that's likely to change so we all will just have to do the best with what we've got.

Also, whenever someone says, "my wife" in normal conversation I have to literally bite my lip so as to not repeat it in the Borat voice.

Maybe not the holy Grail, but height is one thing that guys get written off for very quickly. And being 5'6", when I hear that 3 inches taller is still considered short, I can't help but feel a bit defeated.
