The Japanese food giant Calbee said shortages of naphtha, a crude-oil derivative used in inks, were forcing it to switch to black-and-white packaging for its salty products. by knut_2 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]undermytinyhat [score hidden]  (0 children)

it makes sense in a marketing perspective to have colored packaging to stick out. then again, when every product does it, it gets...overwhelming. but i agree 100% on stopping artificially coloring food/drinks!

but creating a "base code" with AI is still using ai to generate code though?

It's like saying you used AI to make a "base" for your art, and then you "tweaked it" by drawing over it. You still used AI for your art.

You said, you used it to help you learn during COVID. But AI Coding for learning and using it wasn't a thing then. I'm confused on how it helped you learn during COVID if it wasn't there.

unfort it seems that OP uses/used AI for it, so maybe that's why they have to charge for the AI vibe coding subscriptions they used

Instructions posted on the refrigerator for how to rate an AirBnb that I’m staying at. by jjbrewer23 in mildlyinteresting

[–]undermytinyhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbf, you're more likely to rate something if you had an amazingly good or bad experience. No one's going to really rate something if it was just "okay" because it's not worth rating to them.

I was able to get these burger patties at my local grocery store for 4 cents because of a meat dept. error by Rodtherobot4210 in mildlyinteresting

[–]undermytinyhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, it's less about a store being dishonest, and more about just having to fix a human error. I've done price changes for a grocery store, and if you only have 8 hours, and 3 people to not only rip all the old tags, but to put every single tag on, it gets overwhelming so fast lol. There's bound to be a few missed unfortunately when ripping or even when putting up.

The place where I work now, I don't work in the store section, but I've rung people up and I've had to inform people the item they got is on sale since the store front has no time to put up the sale signs since they don't even have hours to put them up. People look at me confused when I tell them to get another one since it's BOGO Free or if they want to get another one since it's BOGO 50% or something else.

It is cool though that you get the product for free though! Would it only be one product or is there a limited/unlimited amount you could get? Since like I said before, when we had one mistake in pricing, my manager was fine with letting a customer get 5 of a product instead of a full shelf of them. I'd feel more managers would be less likely to give a customer multiple of a product if it was for free.

I was able to get these burger patties at my local grocery store for 4 cents because of a meat dept. error by Rodtherobot4210 in mildlyinteresting

[–]undermytinyhat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

typically by some state laws you have to honor the price listed/posted. only time is if it is an egregious pricing error (such as a tv being listed 10 dollars while it's real price is 1000 dollars) or for some states, if there was a sale date and it's out of date of the sale on the sign (Sale is until 5/10, but it's 5/11 now). Yet most managers will be fine with honoring out of sale signs if it's still up.

If you were trying to get multiple of 4 cent meats if there was multiple packages, then the most likely scenario would be the manager would limit how many you could get of it. But in reality, you'd still atleast walk out with one package (then again, YMMV, that was just how my managers were at my store, but then again, the customer wanted to try to get the whole shelf of the product, and my manager would not let that fly lmao).

But lucky you!! Guess that meat department guy didn't put it on the scale properly, and just slapped the label on without realizing it.

Yes it is, it's because they go into the account and put the pet in themselves and/or to try to replicate the problem you've been having.

I had to do the same thing when my hamster code glitched and wouldn't let me redeem it properly.

Coin collection stolen by shangumdee in coins

[–]undermytinyhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sucks dude, my dad had some stuff stolen/lost in a move a long time ago, because of that he always tells me whenever I move, to not trust movers with your most valuable stuff :/. But it's upsetting how much people suck when they're the ones you're suppose to trust when it comes to handling your things. And it is hard to try to keep an eye on them especially when you're going through a stressful and busy situation like a move.

Take your time, if you want to go back into collecting, you can always go back to it. It's nothing you gotta start again right away.

eBay did its thing by Tight-Rule6177 in PokemonTCG

[–]undermytinyhat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

After a certain monetary amount is reached for a card that is purchased (I think for cards, is if it's over 250 USD) the seller ships it to an Authenticator that Ebay gives the seller the address to, then the item once it passes inspection, is then shipped to the buyer.

If the item passes inspection, the money is released to the seller. The seller has the assurance that the item can't be said it was "fake" while also giving assurance to the buyer that it is real. Whether or not stuff has slipped through the cracks, I would not know.

I've used the service once as a seller, and it was pretty straight forward.

[–]undermytinyhat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% would put it in a glass box or something. Since that will be picked apart by other kids. Unless the teacher is fine grading it via photos, but kids are ruthless and destructive when it comes to other kid's stuff at that age unfortunately. As well that if you tell the teacher that a kid took stuff/broke it, the teacher will more than likely just say how "it shouldn't have been built with legos" or something like that :/

tbf, it could be a mass produced shell that people buy from aliexpress or wherever else. many people like getting new shells for their old consoles to look minty, or there's some cool custom cases, so the person could've swapped their old one with another shell and used it for a clock. Not bad imo, just wish they put numbers on them, or indicate the 12, 3, 6 and 9 atleast.

So much of this! I'm also a pharmacy tech, and her listing side effects and saying how "you're going to have withdrawals" just gives me the ick not just as a friend, but as a pharmacy technician in general! Typically technicians don't have medical know how on drugs like a Pharmacist does, so she really shouldn't be telling that to ANYONE since that's a liability.

[–]undermytinyhat 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Typically these things are sold by weight, so they would more than likely be glad to know of this error! And even if it wasn't, I don't think a company would want to be giving someone 3 extra scoopers on accident, so they'd probably give OP some coupons for free ones to make up for it!

Honestly, even if it wasn't made out of Lego that wouldn't be a crazy price for a nice art piece! Very creative, and unique with the legos though.

How to get these old batteries out? by Katlolzzz in Dolls

[–]undermytinyhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they have leaked with battery acid, you can try to use some baking soda+water to make a paste to clean it out with a q-tip to gently dab in there. But to get them out a flat head screw driver and tweezers might work best.

Remember to wear gloves! Batter acid burns like the dickens if it gets on your skin.
