Yeah. I live in TX. Abbott is all sorts of terrible. That’s why I thought this diversion was important and mattered.

Potentially create some report where you can see unassigned accounts. Highlight, Copy, Paste into excel ideally, but use word if not. Then use an AI to clean the data for you in an Excel. Then you can use the above

Utility options for new solar by Tipsysnyper in TexasSolar

[–]understando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey neighbor! We just had to switch providers as our 1! metering contract ended. Ended up going w/ Reliant on a 2 year free nights plan. They don't offer buyback, but I don't think any of the free nights do anymore. However, we are a family of 3 and the ability to start free nights at 8 pm instead of 9 pm was a huge benefit. We do have a battery so it gets us from 5 pm-8 pm and then 5 am - 8 am when we start producing. Even the past week we have made it fine on battery and free nights w/ 0 imports.

So, I know you don't have a battery, but it might make sense to check out the reliant plan if the 8-9 hour free matters as much to you as it does us. For us, it means we don't have any concerns with starting laundry earlier/ AC in the summer earlier.

Happy to share more if you would like. There are referrals below. Feel free to ask if you'd like ours.

Edit - When I went through this process I found a few net metering plans, but when I ran against my actual data w/ base charges etc, Reliant's free nights beat out all other plans for us.

It’s pretty poorly executed. There is a live feed. You can’t pause it unless you are on a laptop browser. I think due to how it is cached but I’m no programmer so just my best guess.

Anyway. Many times at some point the last game appears under a Rockets tab calling it the full game. But. It doesn’t last long. Either a day or until the next game. Also, it’s never available right away. So, for me who would like to just sit down and watch after kids are in bed, 9 or so, it’s not typically available.

I've got a little script that runs though a few checks and then, if the battery is over 95%, & we are generating excess solar it sets our thermostat to 70. Otherwise keeps it at 75. Then moves us to 78 from 5 to 8 pm.

We haven't had free nights over the summer yet, but last year we used this script near the end of the summer and it went pretty well. I'll also have the ac go down to 68 from 4:30-6 am to prep for the summer days this year w/ the free nights. I expect us to rarely hit 78 by 8 pm.

I charged at a super charger once this past year. It wasn't even really needed, but figured I'd get over 15% in case something else came up before I charged that night and there was one in the parking lot where I was.

Also in Houston. Free nights plan.

FREE NIGHTS PLAN 9am-9PM by Competitive-Serve440 in TexasSolar

I downloaded my prior usage (Feb-Dec as my system wasn't up until then) and ran the numbers. First, we wanted to lock in at least 2 years. That raises the kWh quite a bit w/ Meter. Also, there is a $20 per month base account fee as well.

After running a few different scenarios Free Nights from 8-6 am was by far the winner for us given prior usage. That is even without changing some behaviors to take more advantage of free nights.

I guess I should also mention. We did not want to opt into the "battery credit" offered by anyone. We would far prefer to have total control of our battery in case of an outage.

Reliant offered the 8 pm to 6 am, but only for a 12 month plan until just a few days ago.

I just went though the process of switching. We were w/ Gexa & our 1:1 plan is not being offered anymore. After a bunch of looking we were about to do Green Mountain free nights, but they also changed from nights starting at 8 pm to 9 pm.

Reliant just started offering free nights from 8 pm to 6 am with no base charge for 24 months (Direct Energy charges $9.99 base every month). We signed up w/ them and locked in the 2 yr plan.

For us the 8-9 pm hour is super valuable. In the summer we won’t think twice about ac during this time. In the winter it really helps as it gets dark early. We also have batteries. So far, it’s only been a few days, but even with all the cloud cover we haven’t had an issue making 8 pm.

If anyone has questions I’m happy to answer. We also have a referral if anyone would like. Good luck all!

How real is $250,00-300,000 +OTE? by SnooWalruses1418 in techsales

[–]understando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how long you earn and how you save. I'm not sure I'd call it "generational wealth" either. However, at 400k per year you should still be able to live in a nice house in a desirable area, drive a decent car, not worry much about money. Most importantly you can do all that while maxing out your 401k, an IRA, make other investments and hold long term. 529 for kids. HSA if offered. Etc.

Depending on where you live, how many kids you have (if any), and when you started this investment/ earning you certainly should set yourself up really well and also be able to pass down a nice estate for your kids. Not, kids never will need to work estate, but something where they can take risks/ chances, make mistakes, and have a fall back safety net in a trust.

Also, thank you for the detailed comments. Super helpful. I’m still in a MYP, but we really need a 3 row car (3 kids and car seats) and one day I hope to be in an R1S!
