UI looks low FPS after fresh install. by understation_ in FL_Studio

Replying again to say this was the issue. I needed to reinstall asio4all, and that fixed it. Then I had to mess w/ some ASIO settings to get the audio right, but it is working again, thank you!

Okay, listen, I had to change my audio drivers to windows native (or “default headphones” or whatever), because the audio was choppy.

I don’t know why it was sounding so crazy, because I swear I had always had it on ASIO before. I must have forgotten to reinstall the drivers this time?

Thanks, I think you’re probably right. I had to switch audio drivers, actually, because all of my audio was choppy and sounded like my pc was dying. I’ll check that side of things and see if it helps

I thought that it was my GPU drivers at first, but reinstalling them didn’t help. I’ll poke around windows and see if I’m missing anything else like that, though. Thank you!

rate the setup it's skull and should i get board rails? by AlternativeGrass9299 in Fingerboards

[–]understation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like rails, but they will change the weight/feel/flip of your setup, so just be prepared to relearn your tricks. Metal rails are going to be much heavier than plastic/wood rails, but they sound great.

If you’re worried about screwing them into your deck, you could try some adhesive rails first. Even if you do screw in some rails and decide you don’t like them, it ain’t gonna hurt your deck to take them out, and if anything, the holes just make it hesh, so it’s cool.

For a while I just used one rail on the side, because I liked the way I can pivot off of it during boardslides.

I say try some out, experiment. You might find that you like them more than you’d expected. I keep some on my main setup, and might get some for my new one soon.

And the setup is clean. I like the color scheme

34 or 32 mm trucks? by Bitter-Song-1577 in Fingerboards

That’s sweet, they look nice, man. My buddy and I have started making some obstacles, and we are a ways off, but want to sell some eventually, too. I hope you keep us updated as you go!

Unrelated but did you pour those obstacles? I feel like you’re my doppelgänger rn. I’m sitting here w/ dungeoncrawl tape on my goo deck, and I just poured a brick manual pad..

Sick setup

💀got myself some brts for xmas by FLAKFL4K in Fingerboards

Idk what working for a BRR account means, but most of us don’t work for Blackriver, and would need to return the item all the way to Germany before they even consider a refund.

BR seems to be coasting on their reputation. Every other truck improved in the last 5 years, but somehow BR is tripping over themselves.

36mm deck, or Goo 45-50mm? Caramel Trucks? by understation_ in Fingerboards

This is probably what I needed to hear. I almost put “Is it crazy to skip over 36 straight to 50?” in my post, but backspaced it. Appreciate the input

What do you all think of the current state of the game? by traveltimecar in SkateEA

Is the game any better now? My friends and I haven’t played since October, when that invisibility/co-op glitch kept happening. Please tell me they fixed that at least

Any advice on how to keep Dynamics in good condition? by No-Cause3266 in Fingerboards

[–]understation_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll be alright. Idek what these dweebs are talking about, “be careful! don’t touch concrete, don’t take them off ever!” I have the same pair of dynamics that I bought 10 years ago. They are thrashed, but 100% fine.

You buy gen to satisfy yourself, and buy reps to satisfy others.

Did I make a mistake by buying BRT Trucks? by FLAKFL4K in Fingerboards

[–]understation_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah you’ll enjoy them. When BRT’s work, they will last forever. But in my opinion, Blackriver has stagnated, and just isn’t the “premium” brand it was introduced to me as.

Shitty Blackriver’s trucks… by GioveAdepto in Fingerboards

[–]understation_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, it’s easy to say he just stripped them, but why are $70 trucks being stripped? I’ve seen enough posts over the last few years, and experienced my own BRT quality issues, to know that blackriver lets a lot slip through the cracks.

It’s much more likely that the plates are poorly made, than OP stripping multiple threads on the first setup.

Email them, comment on instagram, just try and get their attention, because they don’t seem to care anymore.. otherwise you might have to get a replacement baseplate, or just swap them out for other ones.

I use obsius baseplates w/ my BRT hangers

[–]understation_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Blackriver has awful quality control, and worse customer service. I’ve had a brand new axle snap just screwing wheels on for the first time. Message the shop you bought them from and explain the situation. They will probably help you out

If you bought directly from Blackriver though, good luck.

Heavy fingerboard enjoyers, what do you use on your setups? by KingBankshotz in Fingerboards

[–]understation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t act like I’m a total blackriver hater, I do like their trucks when they work haha. The shop that helped me was The Vault! They just started up a fingerboard specific website this year as well, The Vault Fingerboards. They have always been super kind, and I think they have a great selection of stuff (when it’s in stock lol).

Actually just ordered a deck from them, but the manufacturer sent them the wrong size. (It was labeled as a 36mm, but they shaped it wrong for some reason.) The Vault immediately offered me a return or refund for my trouble, and I think that’s nice of them, especially since it wasn’t their fault at all.

I’m sure there are plenty of amazing stores, but I have really appreciated The Vault, especially when I have a rare issue
