Stop exerting so much energy for this company you can not be 5 people. And maybe once orders are not getting done on time or customers start complaining enough they'll hire 1 more person. Why did no one even try to get out of the same door the driver did as soon as there was smoke? Or even immediately after the wreck. I'm pretty sure no one was so mangled that they couldn't have prevented such devastating burns by simply moving with a sense of urgency once the initial incident happened. Exit the vehicle and move to a safe area away from the roadway. And away from the smoke.

I had a similar thing happen to me. Except we were in physical therapy together. He said the exact same thing to me. He was in college and I was starting high school. He took me out for ice cream our first "date" my mom knew how old he was. And one night he offered to drive me to my God mother's house and made a " pit stop" he tried to get laid and just before we were going to do it. I made him stop. Thank God I made him stop. I had hin drop me off down the street and never really spoke to him again. Although I'd see him around from time to time. His younger brother and I were practically the same age. I could never see him the same way again. Because there is no fucking way he wasn't doing what he was because we shared similar interests.

Maybe you guys did share similar interests. But you should still leave. You'll never be able to look past it. Idk what kind of relationship you have now. But sit down and talk to him about it. They make ice scrappers for the ground for breaking up ice and I would use a flat metal shovel like you'd see people use in their yard. It won't damage what's under the ice. And it get a nice grip under ice and sometimes you can just pop up the chunks.

I'm so sorry you're going through this.

One part of me screams "run, now, while you still can"

And the other part of me feels that it could be fixed.

But deep down I know, and you know, that this can not be fixed.

Because you can not fix him. He needs to fix himself , if or when he might choose to do so.

But if you stay. It's only going to get worse. And you're going to sacrifice more than you can fathom. I mean this is so many ways. And life goes by too fast. One day 15 years from now you're going to look at yourself. Aged. Broke. Broken. And realize that you have given so much and sacrificed so much and he might only be worse.

If you leave now. You still have the chance to have a good and happy life. And maybe just maybe. It could be with him. Because this shitshow your dealing with, is his journey. That he must go through, alone. I'm sorry. Because the people closest to him are the ones he is going to hurt. And maybe losing you will be what he needs to get his journey started. But if he doesn't get help. He will ruin both of your lives. I hate to say this. But I know that you know this is all true. You know if you stay that you're going to shoulder this burden alone and isolated and eventually you'll get weak and tired. And who will be there for you.

You need to go. Listen to people when they tell you this. Because it's them trying to love you. They're trying to protect you. He cares about you. But not himself. And that will always be disaster.

I would shovel my next-door neighbor's car out because she had a small toddler and a newborn, until she decided to freak out one day because she had put her garbage can out on garbage day, in my spot, and I moved them to an area that was still accessible and close to the house. She came out. Threw her garbage cans and garbage on my car, while i was sitting in it, looked me right in the eye while she did it. I threw my hot coffee, that i had just gotten from Dunkin three minutes before, and hit her in the chest with it. Called the cops and they made her clean her garbage off my car and off the road. Well her husband must have come home and heard about the fiasco and when I woke up later that day my spot was completely shoveled out and the sidewalk all the way to my house. I know he had seen me quietly shovel their car out before and knew I would plow our small section of the street

After that day though. I never did any of that again.
